I just witnessed a couple of Orthodox posters get kicked off a "Catholic Caucus" thread. I thought, despite their differences, they had a mutual understanding that each sect was considered "Catholic". Are not the Orthodox considered Catholic? Why do the Romanists get to monopolize the term "Catholic"?
I consider myself to be Catholic being a part of the universal church of Christ. Why should one sect be able to use a universal concept to identify themselves in a caucus thread while other Christian denominations need to use specific qualifiers to identify themselves in a caucus thread?
As you are pro-life, I have no doubt that you have done a lot of good work in the field and respect that.
Consider that women who go to crisis pregnancy centers are the ones most likely to not want to abort, but instead be seeking better circumstances for themselves and the baby. Their poor circumstances often undoubtedly reflect being on their own in many cases, with their boyfriend or ex-boyfriend being a heel.
However.
There is another contingent, the major one, of women who abort and loudly proclaim that they don't care what any man says, including the father of the baby.
You can see such women at any rally for abortion. There are millions in America.
So on one side, there are guys who desert.
On the other side, there are women who kill the baby uncaring of the father's right to keep his child alive.
And this reflects a breaking in some cases of the first half of humankind's core bargain, and in other cases a breaking of the second half of humankind's core bargain.
That bargain is this: that women, being physically bound to the baby between conception and birth, won't kill the baby, and that men, not being physically attached to the baby between conception and birth, won't run away and desert the baby.
When either half of that bargain is broken, human civilization implodes.
And added to that is one more element:
If it is believed that one part of the bargain is being broken anyway, that is used as an excuse to break the other half of the bargain.
So when the fathers of the babies are cast are deserters-by-default, that is used as a rationale to kill the baby via abortion.
That is one of the reasons why one of the most important thing that pro-lifers can do is to strengthen and elevate fatherhood, including strongly presuming that fathers wanting to raise their children is the default. For that presumption is one of the strongest counterweights to pro-abortion forces possible.
I'll bet the Religion Moderator didn't suggest that you title the thread with a derogatory term you know to be hurtful and objectionable.
In this case, when the mission chairman was blustering and trying to destructively throw his weight around in a way that would hurt his own people, Holy Spirit rose up within me and I warned him that he'd better get on beam with what God was doing with his group or God would take him out of this life. 40 days later he was dead of a brain aneurysm.
Does anyone think that the Holy Spirit acts in this way? This episode does not sound as though it manifests any of the fruits of the Holy Spirit attributed by Scripture.
All of us will one day die. I could die any moment, even right after hitting the "post" button on this comment, but it would have nothing to do with any of you, just my own frailty, as all humans are frail.
It is my opinion as a devout Catholic that this comment from Quix's post is the single most unbalanced, evil thing I have ever read on this forum, and the Holy Spirit was, in my opinion, NOT involved. Possibly Satan. I pray Christ has mercy on anyone who purports to speak for the Holy Spirit in fatal judgment of another human.
Now I return to my silence, as the response is immaterial to me.
Bitterness is physically destructive in a list of ways.
Search it out.
Even you might learn something.
What derogatory term is hurtful and objectionable?
Forgive them Lord. They know not what they do.
BTW, I gather that
ANANIAS & SAPPHIRA
don’t ring any Biblical bells for you.
I agree with your premise.
It also caused me to remember something a great Jewish friend told me years ago: “If the sons are raised well, we won’t have to be concerned about how the daughters fare.”
Fatherhood is the glory of manhood.
It’s best not to diagnose and counsel by internet.
Romanist. You have been told of this multiple times by me and other Catholic Freepers and it has been mentioned at least a dozen times on threads you have been a party to. A simple word look up will confirm it.
Perhaps the man was struck down by Quix’s curse, but it was NOT by God.
As you and the rabid cliques have done with me?
. . . fascinating . . .
lots of assumptions and guesstimates are hazardous . . .
as are lots of speculations.
Hereon, folks often disclose things quite candidly. Sometimes they forget what they’ve disclosed.
Folks should always take anything anyone says to THE LORD FOR CONFIRMATION OR DISCARDING.
I’ve said that to clients for 30+ years as well as to friends, church members and students.
Do you believe that every Catholic Church does or should have a TSA like security station in the Communion lines in which ID, personal history, and a full body cavity search is performed prior to receiving the Eucharist?
I’m wise enough to know God does not kill on your command.
Why is it derogatory, hurtful, and objectionable?
Sounds more like the action of the “Greys” instead of the Holy Spirit.
No word on whether the stricken man was used in the preparation of the slurry of human body parts used for the Greys’ feast?
It may be the story isn’t finished yet. Stay tuned. It only gets stranger and stranger.
