I just witnessed a couple of Orthodox posters get kicked off a "Catholic Caucus" thread. I thought, despite their differences, they had a mutual understanding that each sect was considered "Catholic". Are not the Orthodox considered Catholic? Why do the Romanists get to monopolize the term "Catholic"?
I consider myself to be Catholic being a part of the universal church of Christ. Why should one sect be able to use a universal concept to identify themselves in a caucus thread while other Christian denominations need to use specific qualifiers to identify themselves in a caucus thread?
I have no trouble at all standing behind what I posted.
I have no need at all to withdraw a word of it.
Coakley has earned every bit of it.
I still think there’s unreasonable duplicity
vis a vis
attitudes etc. toward me
vs
attitudes etc. toward me in behalf of Coakley.
I find that somewhat surprising and curious.
Here we go, one of several maledictory posts about Coakley:
God have mercy on people of good will and His priorities.
May those most horrifically contrary to Him and His priorities fall in the pit they have dug and that speedily. May He make of them vivid examples of the consequences of choosing satan and his priorities over Gods.
May all who see their fall know that GOD HIMSELF has made of such creatures vivid examples of how NOT to live and do.
LET GOD ARISE AND HIS ENEMIES BE SCATTERED.
May the horrifically cruel evil doer choke on his/her own spittle.
May they fall flat in a list of ways breaking and disfiguring their faces and every public image they have made for themselves.
May their own relatives foresake them in disgust and revulsion.
May their own children refuse to have anything to do with them.
May their dryness and deadness of soul leak out all over their bodies in vivid ways.
May the baby with the curling iron be vindicated and recompensed a thousand fold in the lives of every such hideously cruel and insensitive satanic politician in Washington and in every State office, in Jesus Name.
May the sex lives and activities of every such evil doer become painfully and overtly hideously disgusting and wretched even to themin justice for what they have done to their victims and the unborn.
May such evil doers be haunted with nightmares of the evils they have done coming home to roost in their own lives and bodies.
May such unrepentant creatures relentlessly face themselves in their mirrors and in their nightmares until they cannot stand to tolerate themselves any longer.
May any so led pray in similar agreement against such horrific evils and such hideous evil doers.
#######
I guess you can get the drift of how I feel about such cases.

LORD, GOD, ALMIGHTY,
PLEASE keep this Coakley creature from any further public life at all. Cause her to fall into a pit of horrors 7 times worse than the baby experienced with the curlling iron.
In Jesus Name.
So be it.

AMEN! AMEN!
With God in charge of all those definitions and their application.
Yo. It's hard out here fo da hit man.
But I just read that article about how trijicon puts citations of Bible verses on their sights. I checked my ACOG and, sho' 'nuff: John 8:12! Cool!
No duplicity. No one here supports Coakley. No one denies her evil deeds.
Do we hear some whining going on about how some posters “made you look”?
We simply said that was not Christ’s teaching, and prayed for you to be blessed.
This just makes me sick. I’m going elsewhere for a while. Lord Jesus Christ, Risen Son of the Living Almighty God, please have mercy on me, a sinner.
I have to agree. Judging from her statements and stances, Ms. Coakley is an evil human.
*Praying* for her punishment might be the least course of action.
HINT:
Christ came first as suffering servant.
This time, He’s coming back as
THE LION OF JUDAH.

ALSO . . .
Prottys do not tend, usually, at least the authentic, mature, healthy ones . . .
do not tend to see
God as a vending machine
where they insert prayers or ritual or ceremony . . .
and out comes THEIR PRESCRIBED answers or results.
I, at least, see prayer as a request, a suggestion, a preference . . . and God applies His Wisdom and Will thereto—whether to answer with YES, NO, WAIT and HOW to answer with Yes, No, Wait.
I do acknowledge that God at times seems to place incredible authority in the mouth of the priesthood of the Believer . . . according to their faith etc.
And, I believe, as I’ve noted many times hereon, that young children will send generals and their entire armies to being swallowed up by the earth with a single sentence, prayer/command via Holy Spirit.
We aren’t quite there, yet.
However, the Scripture THE RIGHTEOUS TAKE IT BY FORCE is still a valid Scripture though it’s meaning may be obscure.
Certainly, prayer is the more powerful of our weapons of spiritual warfare.
Nevertheless, God is sovereign in how He answers any prayer by anyone.
No one’s prayer is going to send God nor God’s angel armies off half cocked and fool hardy.
God will still do what He can to rescue anyone from the fires of hell regardless of how unwise or even unspiritual anyone’s prayers might have been.
BTW, I don’t feel my prayers about Coakley were the least bit unwise nor the least bit unspiritual.
God DID put parameters on them. Hitler and Mao killed "X" number of people, and not a person more. In the OT God allowed Israel's enemies to defeat them (God's own people) from time to time, but never to wipe them out completely. God set limits.
Wise as a serpent and spiritually demonic.
May God shower you with grace and salvation, with His every blessing, and with peace.
Interesting thought. Do you mean that the house in Calvin's Casino represents God, who is prepared to fleece all the suckers and rubes that come in and play?
I think the answer is, He'd better have some really good ID and the message should be retransmitted to make sure there wasn't a garble.
We can parse out the need for collateral damage, unintended (even if known to be probable) "effects" of an action. I think arguments can be made without recourse to special revelation that some, even most, aerial bombing is licit in warfare (in a just war, etc. etc.) AND I think we can do a protracted moral analysis (as thought it were necessary) that blowing up the WTC or one's (as Rush says" "Fruit of Kabooms" (Laughing hysterically) to show that that is wrong. Unjust war, unlikely to bring about desired result, targetting innocent non-combatants, blah blah.
Of course My glib take on ONE ASPECT of the OT is that it is God's pedagogy: "I will now clobber Egypt. DO I have your atTENtion? Hold your staff and watch this!" And then He says, "Now that I have your attention, you need to know that I love the widow, orphan, poor, soujourner within your gates," and so forth.
I suspect that the pagan PM trail would be less than complimentary.
It’s really fascinating from another perspective as well . . .
we get post after post and thread after thread on FR about how horrible things are, how horrible the satanic globalist enemy are and becoming more so.
There’s a lot of hand wringing and fretting in abject frustration at what can be done.
Most of us agree that things have become OUTRAGEOUSLY HORRIBLE on a national level in the halls of power.
Major leaders including the Pres__ent OThuga have become master destroyers of everything good in our Republic and across the globe.
They are massing forces toward massive deaths every way they can arrange it. Cruel, inhuman, hellish, devilish, genocidal deaths. No doubt. And that may be a mild way of putting it.
They have gone well beyond the millions of murdered unborn.
There are persistent rumors that they have to bugger little boys or sacrifice children just to get into the ruling elite.
And about all a lot of FR folks can do is wage tea parties and voting campaigns. As nice as those are . . . Whoop-T-dooo.
Some of us pray earnestly about and for such matters.
Some of us wage spiritual warfare most fiercely.
If waging fierce spiritual warfare is not one’s cup of tea, then I suggest the scripture about cowards having the same destiny as homosexuals might be worth some sobering reflection.
Our Republic and this era passed the SUNDAY AFTERNOON TEA
stage a very long time ago.
Holding one’s pinky finger up with one’s cup of tea and going
“WELLLLL, NOW, TSK TSK!”
Is just not going to remotely cut it any more.
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition.
I know how to pray aggressive spiritual warfare prayers and I’ve seen God honor them with lots of results. I’m not about to stop now. They will become more frequent and more aggressive as this END TIMES drama winds up to it’s ARMAGEDDON CONCLUSION or I get raptured or both.
Spiritual warfare is far from designed for the weak-kneed or those of sensitive constitution or prissy sensibilities.
This is eternal spiritual warfare. God is playing fiercely for keeps. I’m on His side.
He knows it. He keeps affirming me in humblingly blessed ways with His unmistakable finger prints on such blessings.
I’ll always take His assessment over anyone and everyone else’s.
GOD ALONE IS WORTHY. GOD ALONE IS BOSS.
“But in your example, you admit 2 Peter says one thing and yet you pick Psalms over Peter.”
You’ve lost me - where am I picking Psalms over Peter?
“One does need an understanding of Kingship and authority and the role of the steward of a kingdom. The keys are specific. Very specific.”
Yes, Jesus so specifically made Peter the Steward in His absence that just over a chapter latter, we find:
“Mat 18:1 At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”
Guess the others weren’t well versed on what the keys of the kingdom specifically, very specifically meant.
“Let us stroll through Acts.”
Don’t you mean, let’s stroll thru the first few chapters of Acts?
Peter was sometimes called Apostle to the Jews, and as the main thrust of Christianity left the Jews and turned to the Gentiles, much more emphasis fell on Paul.
In the first 12 chapters of Acts. Peter’s name is mentioned 55 times in 53 verses. He is mentioned once in the rest of Acts.
In Chapter 15, in the Council at Jerusalem, Peter speaks, and then “they listened to Barnabas and Paul as they related what signs and wonders God had done through them among the Gentiles. 13After they finished speaking, James replied, “Brothers, listen to me... 19Therefore my judgment is that we should not trouble those of the Gentiles...”
Peter was no preeminent in the Council. I have no problem with this, nor do I think it denigrates Peter in any way...I think Peter was an awesome Christian, and a man so far above me in faith that it is ridiculous to use my name in the same sentence.
But he sure wasn’t the Vicar of Christ. That name went to the Holy Spirit. Wiki: “The title Vicar of Christ came into use in the fifth and sixth centuries. The Christian Church prior to Constantine reserved the titles, Vicar of Christ and Vicar of the Lord exclusively for the Holy Spirit, whom Jesus sent to His Apostles to complete their training (John 16:12-15).”
MB “The pillar AND foundation of truth. Not just the support.”
“Hedraiwma, late and rare word (from edraiow, to make stable) occurs here first and only in ecclesiastical writers later. Probably it means stay or support rather than foundation or ground.”
http://www.studylight.org/com/rwp/view.cgi?book=1ti&chapter=003&verse=015
MB “Useful, yes. All encompassing? No.”
Timothy is told to use scripture for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness. The result of doing that “the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
Is scripture every form of knowledge? No. But a man of God taught by it and corrected by it will be “thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
Not partially, needing more unfolding to reveal doctrines no Apostle taught. And remember, Paul said he taught the Ephesian Elders in Acts 20 “the whole counsel of God”. It is also the faith that Jude describes as “once for all entrusted to the saints.”
If you want to teach something additional, like the Assumption of Mary, that is your business - but don’t claim it is binding doctrine. And Purgatory, Priests, Indulgences, Penance?
Well, they are not needed for every good work.
MB “The Church is the pillar and foundation of Truth.”
Well, the TRUE church is. If a church requires one to go beyond scripture, then it isn’t true. By definition. For it is then no longer the pillar and support (or foundation) of the truth. The Truth isn’t defined by the church organization, but the organization by the Truth. And what is truth?
May she have really, ahem, productive sneezes when she doesn't have a hankie.
May she get a paper cut every day at the office.
May her best stockings run.
Come on,help me out here.
May God give her (and me) the grace to know and to understand the dreadfulness of our sins, the faith to seek forgiveness and amendment in the Love of Jesus, and the courage to step into the new life.
I have a busy life. The description of all the priestly duties performed how and when takes up a lot of text. You need to read it for yourself. I don't understand the Catholic reluctance to study scripture for themselves. Then after doing the work for you or someone else, be met with YOPIOS.
Therefore, 2 Timothy 2:15
Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
THANKS MUCH.
I wasn’t even PRAYING
for the least bit of HUMAN intervention into her life in the slightest.
I was and do ask for God’s judgment to fall powerfully and make of her a vivid example of how NOT to live and what priorities NOT to have if one wants to avoid UNsinged tail-feathers.
Part of my Scripture listening recently has included the Scriptures about Elisha? calling down lightening bolts to strike the king’s captain and 50 men sent to accost him twice. Burned em to a crisp according to THE MESSAGE VERSION.
Scripture records no hand wringing on Elisha’s part.
I suppose the possibility exists . . .
that none of this has anything to do with Coakley . . .
and tons to do with bitterness and resentment toward the
pray-er.
OK, you’re making my household shudder now. FRegards ....
