Who are the Catholics: The Orthodox or The Romanists, or both?
Me

I just witnessed a couple of Orthodox posters get kicked off a "Catholic Caucus" thread. I thought, despite their differences, they had a mutual understanding that each sect was considered "Catholic". Are not the Orthodox considered Catholic? Why do the Romanists get to monopolize the term "Catholic"?
I consider myself to be Catholic being a part of the universal church of Christ. Why should one sect be able to use a universal concept to identify themselves in a caucus thread while other Christian denominations need to use specific qualifiers to identify themselves in a caucus thread?

I suggest that, in the future, if you want quotes from VIS, you go to VIS, not some anti-Catholic blog on rapidnet. Why, you think VIS says it differently???
Even the quote as you posted it does not say worshiping Mary.
Oh, Petronski, what would we do without you??? IF you were ever involved with a football team, I'll bet you were the water boy...

Likewise, every caucus named "Cathoic" is too broad of a term since the Roman Catholic Church does nto have ontological monopoly on it.Being on the outside looking in, I was always under the impression that the papists looked at you guys as an inferious species...
I honestly don't know why you guys keep mending that thread that connects your two so-called branches of the same religion...

The Vatican is just a sovereign nation and therefore has diplomatic immunity. It can do no wrong.lol. A sovereing nation with its own standing army and diplomatic immunity.

God gave Noah, Abraham a choice to follow him or not. They sometimes did, but they had the free will to choose. That is the history of Israel - God trying to keep the attention of the people for longer than a day or two at a time.

According to a Pew study, for every one Protestant who converts to Roman Catholicism four Roman Catholics convert to Protestantism. Where is the link to the study, the results and the methodology?

The world is not, as people used to think then, a chaos of mutually opposed forces; nor is it the dwelling of demonic powers from which human beings must protect themselves. The sun and the moon are not deities that rule over them, and the sky that stretches over their heads is not full of mysterious and adversary divinities. Rather, all of this comes from one power, from God's eternal Reason, which became -- in the Word -- the power of creation. The Pope is a poet.

A sovereing nation with its own standing army and diplomatic immunity. Considering the hatred lobbed at the Catholic Church from so many directions, what other church NEEDS all that?

Where is the link to the study, the results and the methodology? How dare you demand scientifically rigorous accuracy!
It is sufficient that the claim is anti-Catholic. Now move along, feelthy papist!

That testing perfects faith but does not add one iota to our justification If one is justified before the test, why test? And, where are you getting this fairytale from?

Who is "the god of this world?" Hint: he starts with 'C', ends with 'n', and has a 'v' in the middle. Oh, and murdered the spirit of Geneva for two centuries (along with some actual people).

Another reason for making this a high priority (to the Orthodox this may appear as the No. 1 priority, but I'm not so sure it is to Pope Benedict) is that it is that for which Jesus prayed. This is not gracious, nor is it close to the truth. I pray that you weigh your words a little more carefully next time you broach this subject. If you would care for some Roman Catholic guidance, please PM me for some instruction.

Actually no. But it has made the mistake of worhipping creatures rather than the Creator.

There are hundreds of verses proving men's justification is in the past tense There are references to salvific events in the past, and there are references to salvific events in the future. That is because justification is a continuing process, not a single past irrevocable event.

Satan is a tool in the hand of God..he can not act without the permission of God...read your bible More of the evil traditions of men of Calvin.
I can't imagine how you would begin to try to prove that using Scripture alone.
What a fabulous repudiation of Christianity. "Satan is a tool of God". This is certain a reasonable illustration of the evil of Calvinism and of its satanic origins. This belief removes all responsibility of satan for his own actions from him, and also for all those who follow him. To believe this would require removal of what, 90-95% of all Scriptural verse, and nearly all Gospel verse altogether. How can you guys call yourself Christians if you believe that God uses Satan as a tool?
