Are you forgetting what John says at the end of his Gospel and at the end of his letters?

There is too much to write down here — it will be passed on by word of mouth.

(I know I’m paraphrasing — I’ll find the verse and post it.)

The was beautifully written by the Pope.

Thanks for posting.

To put it simply, I am Catholic because it is the one True Church. Jesus is God; Jesus founded the Catholic Church. He was the Churches first 'convert'. :>

The grande history of tradition proves this and the succession of Popes, beginning with St. Peter, shall continue until the end of time.

I love and respect the tradition, the clarity and the purity of that which is the Catholic Church.

No, I'm not forgetting. But John tells us that the purpose of what is written is so that we may believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that in Him we might have life. I would suggest that John confirms our understanding that we only need the gospel. The Holy Spirit will guide us to all truths.
