And yet in your first post you immediately single out "so-called 'christians' in this forum" to attack, and not any other possible group (Klansmen, Muslims, or, following Bill Donohue, sodomites and pro-aborts).

Why?

That's because the anti-Catholic bigots on Free Republic typically identify themselves as Christians. I don't think there are many klansmen or Muslims on FR and the sodomites and abortionists are usually run-off after a short time.

Am I the only one who noticed that there have been nearly a hundred posts on this thread and many of them are either denying that anti-Catholic bigotry exists or giving flimsy excuses to justify the bigotry.

Actually, they typically, and unfortunately, identify themselves as Protestants. As do "their religious leaders," which NYer also singles out for oppobrium in his post. NYer wasn't just criticizing anti-Catholic bigots who just happen to self-identify as Protestants -- he was "attacking" all Protestants.

Am I the only one who noticed that NYer posted an article and commented on it in such a way that one is reminded of a youth shoving a stick into a hornet's nest?

... and then, when the hornets fly out, ready to sting, the response by NYer and his cohort is to exclaim "Nasty hornets! Why you buzzin'?"

I don't deny that there exists anti-Catholic bigotry on Free Republic. I combat it occasionally. But, sadly, it isn't the only form of bigotry that one can see expressed here.
