She had to be intubated last night. please keep praying.
Thanks for the update. Prayers for dear Emma.
I will continue to pray for Emma's continued recovery.
I'll be lighting another candle for her tomorrow before Mass.
My prayers are with her and your whole family.
I saw Emma today at the hospital. She has tubes going into her everywhere. Truly heartbreaking.
They are taking her off the “paralyzing” drugs so that she might be able to have the respirator tube removed. So she can open her eyes now and communicate with nods and hand squeezes. It was the first time I was able to communicate with her since before she got sick.
I was so happy to talk to her that her Momma had to remind me not to get her too excited with the interaction. I’m kind of an interactive grandpa.
She seemed to like it when I sang her song, “Papa loves Emma”, followed up by “The Itsy Bitsy Spider”.
I asked her if she liked it when I put my hand on her head and she nodded “yes”.
Her Daddy, Andrew, helped her by using the suction to help her with the bubbles she coughed up. I watched how he did it and did the same thing later when I was close to her. Andrew has been staying at the hospital almost 24/7. He’s a good Daddy.
Her Momma, Suzy has been staying at our house at night so that their other two children can see her too. She’s a good Momma and we raised her well.
Please keep praying for Emma. She is at the crossroads and needs our support.
-Jeff
My prayers will keep coming.
Yes, continuing prayer.
Removing Emma’s respirator is a very promising sign, Jeff. Her understanding of what’s going on around her and the people around her are so important, and wonderful she knows Momma and Daddy are there every day and night. Prayers continue for your little girl, your entire family, and her medical team.
Praying for Emma. Thanks for the update.
I know how frightening all those tubes poking into a little one look. But, each one is filling her with strength and healing. I pray for her and lit a candle last night as promised and shall continue to pray ...God Bless You All.
Heading to Mass and just thought I’d check.
Lord, in the company of saints in Heaven we pray for the complete healing of your servant Emma.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, amen.
That is very good news. Continuing prayers for Emma’s improvement and wisdom for the doctors.
reaganaut, love your tagline.
Amazing Grace!
Continuing prayers!!!
Blessings and prayers sent for your sweet little granddaughter and your family. May God wrap you all in his arms and give comfort.
Emma Update:
Emma just had her breathing tube and NG (feeding) tube removed, as well as having her arm restraints removed.
She can once again talk (softly and hoarsely).
Her sedation level is quite low now-just enough for the pain and to keep her calm.
She is quite annoyed with the entire experience.
Praise God and keep those prayers coming!
Just checking in and was glad to read this update.
Praying that she has a swift recovery.
My heartful prayers are with your whole family and little Emma. Please keep us posted.
An annoyed child is the best news! A sure sign of a good recovery. Hope she keeps it up.
Good to know our prayers are helping....will keep praying until she’s home and completely well.
