Hey! Don’t go, JA. Stay and fight, you’re tougher than this!

Stay, Judith Anne.

Your contributions to the forums are very valuable. Take a break from the vicious silliness that passes as reasoned discourse in the religion forum and post on the news forum.

The posts by the bigots are so outrageously daft that it’s always useful to read them and understand that some people are reflexively dumb and goofy.

I am glad that Christ didn’t give up so easily.

Time for me to leave FR.

I am fed up with anti-Catholic bigots.

After 9 years, I would hope no one else would take my name, but if they do, it isn't me. GrannyK is also not me, although I used that name on Lucianne for years before joining FR. Someone else is using it here, now.

Please delete my login password.

Was it something I said?

Hey sweetie.. I am so sorry you have had this abuse.. I hope you are still here to read this. We have had some nice exchanges over the years.

I too get fed up with being attacked for everything under the sun (my movie choices, my spelling, word choices, sentence structure, my diet, my faith walk etc)

But I just now pick & chose where I visit & am not glued to any one thread (like I used to be with ATRW, the Finest, Just Amys).. I have met many fine people here & treasure their friendships. I visit Amys & ATRW to check on acquaintances & do check out pings & have fun & just avoid the controversy. I am too thin skinned and not a fighter.

Well whatever you chose, God Bless You. Facebook is a nice way to connect with people YOU CHOSE..

I never whine about anti-Catholicism. It doesn’t bother me in the slightest; in fact, it’s frequently a source of amusement.

By the way, you’ll never catch me bashing “Proddies” (or using the word ‘Proddie”). I bash the Kult of Osama bin Kalvin quite frequently, but those in the Kult are not evil — merely mistaken.

And you are heretics. However, God still loves you, and so do we. In fact, I’m praying to a statue for you right now.

Nice try, but the below is the way we are treated on FR:

CANON V.- If anyone shall affirm, that since the fall of Adam, man’s freewill is lost and extinguished; or, that it is a thing titular, yea a name, without a thing, and a fiction introduced by Satan into the Church; let such an one be accursed"!

CANON XI.-If any one saith, that men are justified, either by the sole imputation of the justice of Christ, or by the sole remission of sins, to the exclusion of the grace and the charity which is poured forth in their hearts by the Holy Ghost, and is inherent in them; or even that the grace, whereby we are justified, is only the favour of God; let him be anathema

Linking Calvin to Islam goes beyond pointing out "error."

Hey Doc/Aex, who was the Proddie Bashing Catholic Podiatrist who wrote the really impressive Opus! My mind has blanked on his name, but THAT was an Opus!

Are you thinking of Polycarp, or one of his many incarnations? He's still here, and still posting!

Polycarp (since May 10, 2002)
Polycarp IV (since January 1, 2004)
Dr. Brian Kopp (since July 17, 2001)

What makes it difficult, is that there are a lot of Catholics (should be saying Christians) who, through there voiced opinions, seem to discount the Bible as the True Word of God. Instead of all agreeing that the way to Salvation is through accepting Christ as your Savior; Instead of realizing that ALL are sinners and that ALL deserve Hell; Instead of realizing that it is only through Grace and the Love of the Lord Jesus that Heaven will be seen, not dogma; we fraction ourselves. I am a southern Baptist. While I may not agree with all the different 'doctrines' of the different denominations, the bottom line is that: If you believe in and accept Jesus as your Savior, you are saved by the Grace of God and will see Heaven after this life. Who can or would argue with that? The rub comes in with: You can lose your salvation.... You must speak in tongues or you do not know the Holy Spirit.... Praying to something/someone other than God.... Not believeing that Jesus was/is the Son of God...... Preaching only on the Love of God, not the need to turn from sinful ways...... Something so simple turns out to be something so divisive, surely the Lords heart aches at this.

I was thinking to myself just before I happened upon this thread how shockingly ugly it’s been lately on the Religion forum, and that I need to stay away for a while.

"The Council of Trent (which has never been repealed)"

That, of course is impossible, only the tone.

I’m not sure why the Religion Forum is the Wild Wild West of Free Republic.

It wouldn't be if thin-skinned posters stayed away from the "open" threads in the Religion Forum.

But they are like moths drawn to a flame.

The other thread types - prayer, devotional, caucus, ecumenical - provide "safe harbor" from the antagonism of a town square.

That said, I find it very ironic that there are names on this thread complaining about attacks on Catholic beliefs which just a few weeks ago so brutalized Pentecostal beliefs that the most notorious Pentecostals are now conspicuous by their absence.

I am fed up with anti-Catholic bigots.

Judith, PLEASE don't leave.

Leaving does nothing more than let the bigots think they are winning.

Just stay away from the open threads for a few weeks and the anger will leave, I've had to do it before many times.

Judy?
How in the world did you arrive at the conclusion the, "anti-Catholic bigots" are in fact of us? Aren't really insane leftist maniacs here to precipitate the exact reaction you've experienced? Can you not see [that]?

You're a creature of passion, knew you at L.dot and here. You've courage of conviction. No one can take your place, ever

Take a break.
Does wonders for one's POV, perspective and overall mental & physical well being and then there's the soul.

Be it here, there or anywhere never stop fighting. Ever. You'll bend, but never break.

Judith Anne.

You might well consider me one of those “anti-Catholic bigots” as we have recently sparred here at Free Republic.

I’m sincerely sorry for my offences. If you like, please let me know exactly what you would like me to say or do in order to make amends.

Please stay.

R2.
