Time for me to leave FR.
It’s not bad here if you just stay out of the religion forum. I more or less gave up on that a few years back.
Fleeing from anonymous bigots only makes them feel empowered. Stay with us.
Judith Anne, I hope you change your mind.
You’ll be missed on the dog threads.
If you do move on, I wish all the best for you.
Let us know where you land if you can.
We all know the two little sweethearts who have finally broken the camel’s back for you. You just have to understand what miserable people they are. They spend all their time insulting and belittling Catholics.
I haven’t responded to them for years. They are the type who would pull the wings off of butterflies and take candy from babies. They are thoroughly unpleasant and I don’t think I’d like them if they were Catholic but thankfully the Bible doesn’t say that we have to LIKE people, phew.
You are an honest to God (or whatever the appropriate term is) druid? Ya d@mn pagan! /joke, sorry, couldn’t resist.
Seriously, not a lot of you around, are there? I’ve met a honest to Odin Odinist, but never a druid.
I’m RC, but would be interested to know what a druid really believes. My knowledge there is slight outside of pop culture (guaranteed distortion) and a little reading way back when.
PS Not going to convert, been full circle from RC to Protestant to deist to atheist and back to RC. Just curious is all.
Well, thank you!
Huh... I’m not a Catholic but I have been to a few Catholic services lately and I thought they were terrific... more modernized, and different, than I expected. They had some really excellent singers, too. I checked out your postings history and believe that you are a good and strong freeper. Don’t let the whack jobs win. Stick around and keep smiling.
FRegards,
LH
I’m a proud catholic conservative and post on here from time to time.
Judith Anne, I hope you’ll stay. Sometimes it’s best to take a break from the “discussions” of Catholicism and stick to the politics threads. The religion threads can get discouraging. There is so much misinformation about us out there, and a lot of un-Christian behavior. Actually, I think it’s Projection. But, like St. Paul, we must keep fighting the good fight and running the race. Just being you, a Catholic, on the other non-religious threads is keeping the leaven in the bread.
Whatever you decide, may God be with you always and may you feel His love in a tangible way every single day. I ask this for you in the name of Jesus Christ.
There was a religion survey done not too long ago and the majority of FReepers who responded were Catholics.
I’m Lutheran/Evangelical/Charismatic (I’m saved by Christ, that’s what I know....) and I love and embrace true Catholicism, and I ADORE Pope Ratzinger. My Boy Scout has his meetings at the local parish and I pray for him every time I pass his photo.
You’re right, the mud slinging here makes me sick. To quote (Catholic) Hugh Hewitt, “It’s not like there’s a shortage of targets out there, we should NOT be turning on each other!”
The devil is using our doctrinal differences, however minor, to distract us from the actual threats to the work of the Holy Spirit, and that’s him and his minions. It seems that that’s his third choice. His first would be to kill us. Failing that, he’d tempt us into hideous sin. Failing that, he distracts and divides us.
The time is coming shortly where we won’t have time for our doctrinal distractions, as anyone who names the name of Jesus Christ as Lord will face persecution and death. Then very quickly we’ll be neither Protestant nor Catholic, but wheat or chaff.
Take a break for a while, then come back and lurk or just post on the lighter threads.
Hugs,
OTAC
Oh, and my SECOND favorite site is Spiritdaily.com!
Try being Mormon on here.
“...some of the most vile, desperate, and bigoted attacks on the Church are ironically made by those closest to converting.”
Thank you for that post, Ronaldus Magnus. That’s very hopeful. I would love to hear your conversion story. May God bless you always.
Whoops, I accidentally replied to post #2 instead of #1. Thanks for letting me know.
I hope you stay Judith Anne.
Judith, again? don’t you opus every 6 months or so. this is like the 3rd time I know of
No I was being facetious, (a big word for me) the whole dancing around a tree naked, would be the death from humiliation thing for me. Self deprecating humor is my stik but there are limits to that.
