Great. Another idiot who says stuff like “I love the King Jame’s. If it was good enough for Paul it’s good enough for me.”

I consider this type of behaviour to be a form of taking the Lord’s name in vain —— outright blasphemy.

During the book burning, according to the Web site, barbecued chicken fried chicken and “all the sides” will be served.

With their list of heretics, it sounds like there'll be plenty of fuel for the cooking fire !

Hey, if I can get people to buy my books just to burn them, that is a market I will be more than happy to service.

I’ll make up some stuff, drag it out to 150-200 pages of hocum and call it the “Devil’s Almanac” and sell it for $50 a copy. How may do you want?

I’ll even throw in a coupon good for gallon of gas with every case purchase.

“We will also be burning Satan’s popular books written by heretics like Billy Graham, Rick Warren, Bill Hybels, John McArthur, James Dobson, Charles Swindoll, John Piper, Chuck Colson, Tony Evans, Oral Roberts, Jimmy Swagart, Mark Driskol, Franklin Graham, Bill Bright, Tim Lahaye, Paula White, T.D. Jakes, Benny Hinn, Joyce Myers, Brian McLaren, Robert Schuller, Mother Teresa, The Pope, Rob Bell, Erwin McManus, Donald Miller, Shane Claiborne, Brennan Manning (and) William Young.

From the news story. Anyone who thinks that James Dobson and Billy Graham are somehow Santanic is so far over the edge that he should be locked up. This guy does sound like Jim Jones

Our Church has a bon-fire on Reformation Day, too. We burn Bibles, too. And flags.

‘Course, the Bibles and flags are old and tattered and given up for the express purpose of proper disposal.

We wind it all up by burning a copy of the Papal Bul against Luther.

I sure hope he’s making a good living as a whackjob pastor.

‘Cause as a web designer, he seriously sucks.

Another power mad kook lording over a congregation who truth be known is probably a sanctimonious hypocrite secretly drinking and banging his parishoners.

I understand preferring the KJV as being probably the best translation generally available. I understand not liking the NIV and some other translations. I understand preferring “Majority Text” bases for translations, but I have never understood the insistence that the KJV is PERFECT, and anything else...everything else is of the Devil. Even though the KJV is demonstrably imperfect (the translators themselves did not claim infallibility), and is based on the “Textus Receptus”, which is NOT strictly Majority Text (it has a few very late, fraudulent aberrations...but if you point that out you’re “taking God out of the Bible” or “attacking the Trinity”). KJV-onlyists can be VERY vehement about it being “the Perfect Word”. Woe be to anyone to suggest that it is otherwise. I have a friend which I have not seen in a while, who had fallen in with a KJV-only church, and it just tore him up to suggest that it was not perfect. I don’t know if he is still of that stripe anymore or not.

Burning symbols to vanquish what they symbolize...sounds like they’re celebrating Halloween with some good old-fashioned witchcraft. Oh, but that’s only demonic when OTHER people do it.

Reading that list gave me a little deja vu to those old Warner Brothers Tasmanian Devil cartoons where Bugs is reading about the Devil's diet. You know, "bears, boars, cats, bats, dogs, hogs, stoats, goats," etc.

This is nuts. I am a staunch KJV guy but burning other translations is ridiculous. I believe in using the original translation because I can handle the old English.

It might be easier, though, to list the Christian authors this guy HASN’T blacklisted.

But will they burn any copies of the Koran? I guess that would be a hate crime.

LOL!

A friend of mine was taking a religion class at the local university. A classmate stood up one day and announced that the instructor and every student in the class were going to hell because they were using false Bibles - that “if the King James Bible was good enough for Jesus, it was good enough for everyone”.

Seriously!
