>>We don’t know Mary’s demeanor. We have no idea whether she did or did not “lose her self-control or wish to flee.”<<
*snicker*
I’m sure she was ready to party down after seeing her son whipped and hung on a cross. Right.
That's nothing to brag about.
I know that some people are Maryphobic.
I know of no Protestant who is "Maryphobic," regardless of how much Rome would like to paint all Bible-believing Christians as anti-Mary.
Bible-believing Christians are anti-idolatry and no one erects those golden calves like Rome. Even Mary, when put in a position over and above her Son, is an idol of men's hands. Rid yourself of it. Mary would be appalled to see what goes on in her name.
Get the difference?
When my husband was dying, I sat with him, did not lose my self-control, and did not wish to flee. Were I with my son at his death, I would be the same, there for him, giving him every ounce of love and strength I possessed.
If I, a lowly sinner, can manage that, surely Mary, mother of God, could, for her son. Where do the scriptures say that she lost control or wished to flee?
Or is that another example of reading more into Holy Scriptures than is there? After all, protestants have already told us Christ had more respect for everyone else than his mother...

LOL!
I know one.....
Show us in the Bible where we learn Mary didn't "wish to flee."
Show us in the Bible where Mary "maintain(ed) such complete self-control and understanding of the logic of what was happening."
Whatever that means.
And I'm sure she'd be thrilled with the ridicule and interpretation of her Son's actions toward her by the protties, as well.
/sarc
Who would that be? And please give us an explicit example of this “Maryphobia.”
Please show us any post that "ridicules" Mary.
>>Hey, at least it’s Jesus.
Get the difference?<<
So the “Graven Image” Idolatry stuff is cool when it’s Christ.
Oh, I get it now.
Great post. Thanks Quix.
lol. I guess some people have a really hard time differentiating between a statue of Christ and a statue of a human being.
Maybe that’s why so many Roman Catholics bow down before the latter. They can’t tell the difference.
>>lol. I guess some people have a really hard time differentiating between a statue of Christ and a statue of a human being.<<
So Jesus Christ wasn’t Human?
Wow.
>>The statement stands as fact in opposition to the fiction Rome spins.

Show us where the Vatican says any of the above.
Pay attention. Mark was defending those sentences.

So?
Mark is not part of the Vatican either.
He is allowed his opinion. Unless it comes from the Vatican, I can go along with him or not.
He’s a great guy but it’s “Mark” not “Benedict”
