I received on the tongue Saturday, and Sunday -- as did almost twenty First Communicants.
I haven’t had Communion in my hand more than five times since my First Communion in 1979. I will not start now just because of this flu.
I was not completing the Our Father chain before this swine flu thing. Plus I show my kids in picture books how Jesus prayed with His hands together so they should too.
It was in a letter from our Archbishop.
Our priest talked with me today and said that as of this weekend, the cup would be offered, but it would be a totally voluntary reception.
He didn’t say anything about the Our Father and the Sign of Peace, however.
I don’t do the Our Father with holding hands, I just fold my hands, bow my head, close my eyes and say it. It’s a prayer between God and me.
Let us know if things change in your areas. Evidently this swine flu thing didn’t turn out to be as bad as anticipated.
i have 3 small kids it would kill me to have one taken. i will not live my life in fear of a swine a bird i think that hand shaking is one of the best thing about church we are all going to die and i fear not where is are faith?
hay if you were around back in the 1970s you could have allready had the swine flu and your body knows how to fight it
