A Request for Prayers (Thomas Aquinas College President Died in Car Crash Today)
Inside Catholic ^ | April 15, 2009

Dr. Tom Dillon, President of Thomas Aquinas College, was killed in a car accident earlier today.

The TAC community is absolutely devastated. Please pray for them, for Dr. Dillon's family, and most especially for Dr. Dillon himself.

He was a truly extraordinary man.

I treasured the times I had with him: on the basketball court, in the cafeteria, in the classroom, in the office...

I only wish I had treasured them more.

May he rest in peace.

Yes, we severed ties with Carl’s Jr. after their commercial with Hugh Hefner. Carl Karcher, the founder of Carl’s Jr stayed active with the school until his death.

Seems his wife is OK physically but in a state of shock from such a sudden death, which is understandable. Hopefully the children will be a big comfort to her.

It’s nice for Dr. Dillon that he just finished the Chapel and was able to see it dedicated before this terrible accident. He very thoughtfully sent letters and photos to many of the clergy that participated. It will be helpful for his family to always remember that he realized this dream before his death.

Although he is beloved and a great President, apparently there is a strong feeling that it is about time for new leadership at TAC. This was not vetted in great detail because Dr. Dillon was filling the post so well. However, in the strange and bizarre way that Divine Providence sometimes works, let us hope that there is someone who is ripe to assume the leadership of this great Catholic institution.

Thanks. At the time I wrote a letter of objection to that CEO, with copies to each CKE Director. It was without apparent effect on them, though it did me some good personally.
