It was a teaching tool. Apparently it was teaching that standing up and using sound judgment ( not shooting bow and arrows indoors ) will get you thrown out of the Pentecostal congregation.
In the book LONGBOW by ROBERT HARDY there is a mention of an arrow being stuck for several hundred years in the interior roof beam of an old church in England.
It is also mentioned that the early Militias were required to practice with the bow at the church grounds, much like American militia were required to bring firearms to church for militia drills after services.
It's a good thing they didn't try that with bb guns.
You can shoot your eye out with one of those things.
It’s all fun and games until someone puts an eye out.
Obvious these pansies have never been to a Nugent concert
I shot an arrow into the air,
It fell to earth I know not where.
Until one day with rage profound,
The man it fell on came around.
In less time than it takes to tell,
He showed me where the arrow fell.
And now I do not rightly care,
To shoot more arrows into the air!——(author Unknown)
