Joel Osteen: Muslim, Jew, or Messianic? From the man who rarely preaches against sin.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aU5kek3D-4I
Joel is a super nice guy, and dedicated Christian.
But he seems to preach that all life’s problems will just disappear when one becomes a Christ follower, and that is just pie-in-the-sky not true.
In fact, the world often turns sour on true Christ followers... and problems certainly do not go away even for the most faithful Christ follower.
For me, believing on Christ Jesus certainly regenerated my mind and life.... but problems don’t just disappear.
Vincent: Want some bacon?
Jules: No man, I don’t eat pork.
Vincent: Are you Jewish?
Jules: Nah, I ain’t Jewish, I just don’t dig on swine, that’s all.
Vincent: Why not?
Jules: Pigs are filthy animals. I don’t eat filthy animals.
Vincent: Bacon tastes gooood. Pork chops taste gooood.
Jules: Hey, sewer rat may taste like pumpkin pie, but I’d never know ‘cause I wouldn’t eat the filthy m-fer. Pigs sleep and root in shit. That’s a filthy animal. I ain’t eat nothin’ that ain’t got enough sense enough to disregard its own feces.
Vincent: How about a dog? Dogs eats its own feces.
Jules: I don’t eat dog either.
Vincent: Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal?
Jules: I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.
Vincent: Ah, so by that rationale, if a pig had a better personality, he would cease to be a filthy animal. Is that true?
Jules: Well we’d have to be talkin’ about one charming m-fn pig. I mean he’d have to be ten times more charmin’ than that Arnold on Green Acres, you know what I’m sayin’?
Wow. I knew he waeren’t right when he came out as a “greenie”.
I have a problem with a “man of the cloth” accepting a $14,000,000 advance on his book deal.
Like Benny Hinn who says he went to Heaven and he’ll sell you a dvd describing it. If God allowed me to see Heaven I don’t think I’d be charging to tell about it.
Bottom line: I have a problem with any preacher who’s on T.V. If God wanted that he’d have put KGOD on Mount Ararat.
The guy just creeps me out with his weird, forced smile and swaying head, and he seems more fascinated with the material things in life as opposed to the spiritual.
Must Christians be circumcised too?
Actually, there are many good devoted preachers of Christ on TV.
I learn a lot, and I believe many people have become dedicated saved and transformed Christians thru Christian TV.
Unfortunately it costs a lot for TV production.
Only your heart.

Amen!!!1
“Yea, and all that live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.” (2 Timothy 3:12)
And Jesus said,”If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.” (John 15:18)
It sounds like Mr. Osteen is getting some financing from Muslim sources.
Wow! What an idiot! The fact that a pig digests quickly helps the pig to ELIMINATE the toxins, not store them. It’s precisely because the diet of the pig is a bit nastier that the pig doesn’t spend 24 hours absorbing the contents of its food. In the video Osteen treats it as if somehow spending LONGER absorbing food contents will mean that other animals (cows, sheep, etc.) will absord LESS toxins.
Besides, the pig’s diet has nothing to do with why it’s not kosher. It’s the hooves. A pig is cloven-hoofed, meaning that the soft flesh between the hooves can make contact with the ground, and pick up trichinosis and other parasites.
You didn’t even peak at the video did you? He wasn’t talking about stimulus “pork.” He was spreading lies to people to scare them away from eating pig meat.
I watch his message quite often also. I truly love him.
I felt guilty after saying tough things about him on FR.
But I truly think he goes overboard in painting this rosy scenario of what it means to be a true Christ-following Christian.
I had a 10-minute Youtube clip of one of his sermons, and he was literally promising that anyone who was born again would suddenly become wealthy within one year.
He was sounding more like a self-esteem class than a Christ follower.
Christ transforms us from the inside out, not the outside in.
That is my only point, and it is not really a deal breaker with me and Joel Osteen.
Just a comment.
I think you’re right. Praise the Lord and pass the pork chops.
“But he seems to preach that all lifes problems will just disappear when one becomes a Christ follower, and that is just pie-in-the-sky not true.”
Which of course is the opposite of what Christ taught. The prosperity gospel that Osteen promotes, is false teaching.
