Pray for our Nation & President-Elect Obama - Day 51

Dear Heavenly Father, Our life is in Your hands. Whether it be the situation with our political system, or the situation with the earthquakes at Yellowstone, or the situation across the world with Israel and the Palestinians - our lives are in Your hands. And we trust You.

We know we do not deserve mercy - and should we not receive it, we accept it as Your will. Our nation can not expect to murder a whole generation of its unborn and not be punished. We hope that our nation will repent; but it has been almost 40 years and it seems to be getting worse. So, Lord, we ask for grace and mercy but accept whatever Your will is in the situation because we know Your justice can not abide such a despicable condition forever. Perhaps through judgement will come repentance. I don't know. But, we trust You.

Lord, we trust You when it comes to Barack Obama. We pray for his salvation. We pray that he will turn out to be a godly leader, knowing at the present moment that the theological situation that he placed himself in for 20 years was not the true gospel. Only You can make a difference here. And so we pray that You will. Save him that America may be led in a godly direction. Else, protect us from the evil to come.

Lord, we have fought a good fight - at least some of the time. We have fought it imperfectly and have sinned ourselves, for which we ask Your forgiveness. Our flesh is very weak. But, our Spirit wishes to follow You. And so, we ask for nothing more than Your presence with us. May You guide us,protect us, love us, and help us throughout whatever may come. And may we be a blessing to You.

I pray for Your people Israel. May they remember their God in this hour of trial. And may they have peace in Jerusalem.

And it is in the name above all names, the name of Jesus that I pray these things. Amen.

Very sobering words Darth. I pray it doesn’t have to come to that. But, if it does, I pray the severity of the judgment will fall on those who deserve it most (i.e., those who knew full well what they were voting for rather than those who were just too ignorant to realize what they had done). We all will pay for this gross error. The media chose both our nominee and the President. They will likely live to regret that day.

Prayers that our country be delivered from evil, and that our troops abroad and innocent citizenry not pay for any willfully naive or destructive efforts in the coming regime.

Prayers, too, that our Republican party finds its backbone and stands for sane and moral measures and doesn’t shirk from standing up to misguidedness and evil. Let it not duplicate the Jews of old in wandering around the desert for years on end.

Heavenly Father,

You are our Creator. You are the Ruler of the Nations. You are Almighty. There is no power above Yours.
And yet most refuse to acknowledge even your existence.
I am but an earthly manager with a number of employees to oversee. If any showed me even a tiny fraction of disrespect or disobedience that your people show you, I would discipline them immediately! How can we expect that You would not judge a nation who has chosen for it's leader a man who refuses even to spend one day in a house of worship to acknowledge You. Lord I pray for his soul, even as I shudder to think of the fate that will surely await him if he refuses to follow Your commands, and instead does what is wicked in your eyes.
I pray for Israel this day. They have suffered long these rocket launches into their towns. Give them clear victory over their enemies. The wicked Hamas has brought suffering to Israel and to their own people of Gaza. I pray for their quick defeat.
Be with us this day. Strengthen your people, who seek to follow you, for the days ahead.

I think this is coming and I think what you said in this post only confirms this passage from Jeremiah.

Lord, some day in the future we will see You return to earth again, until then, we thank You that Your forgiveness means You look at us as though we have never sinned. We are blameless before You.
