In the latest flap over religion in public places, a Lincoln restaurateur and Christian church have decided to pull their Noah's ark booth out of the Lincoln Children's Zoo's annual "Boo at the Zoo" trick-or-treating event. The reason? A new zoo diversity policy forbade Bible verses on the booth's pizza coupons, and the restaurant owner and church leaders did not want to go along with that ruling. The owner of the daVinci's restaurant chain, Kelly Knudson, said he and First Covenant Evangelical Church leaders decided to pull out despite a 15-year history of participating in the event. For all those years, church volunteers had handed trick-or-treaters pizza coupons with the Noah's ark story or another Bible story on the back. "Honestly, we don't like the philosophy that you're going to ban Christianity from anything in public," Knudson said. "I've got nothing against the zoo. I still believe in 'Boo at the Zoo,' because it's a safe haven for kids. I just think they did the wrong thing." John Chapo, president and CEO of the zoo, said daVinci's elected to pull out of the event despite zoo officials' offer of a compromise.

so much for diversity
so much for diversity
But not Bible verses. The Bible verses conflicted with a statement on human diversity that the zoo board of directors adopted earlier this year, Chapo said.
"Lincoln is a very diverse city," he said. "We like to celebrate that diversity. There are diverse cultures here in Lincoln, and we don't want to have anything that would make certain cultures uncomfortable. Our goal is to make everybody welcome."
“Diversity” doesn’t include Christians. “We want everyone to feel welcome,” except for people who aren’t offended by Bible quotations, which is practically everyone.
“We will be sensitive to batty minorities and expect everyone else to go along.”
Noah’s Ark at a Halloween festival?
What’s scary about that?
But seriously, I’m impressed the “First Evangelical Redemption Covenant, et. al.” is not out there screaming at people, threatening them with hell-fire for celebrating Halloween.
You can say that again.
I guarantee you only the super PC corporate/elite/diversity industry liberals on the zoo board were “offended.”
It can't be diverse unless Christianity is excluded. Some animals are more equal than others.
God forgot to tell Noah to put pairs of people on the ark to ensure “diverrrssity.”
I always think it’s funny how many people are left out/not welcome under the guise of “diversity”...
daVinci’s restaurant also serves free meals on Easter Sunday to all. I suppose that also offends the diversitycrats
***He said past attendees had made comments to zoo officials about the verses. Asked if those were complaints, Chapo repeated, “We’ve heard comments.”***
The anti-God people are now more important than the God people. And they call this diversity. “Diversity” is a dirty word and most people just don’t understand that.
Jew's Torah (Old Testament): Deu 4:40 "So you shall keep His statutes and His commandments which I am giving you today, that it may go well with you and with your children after you, and that you may live long on the land which the LORD your God is giving you for all time."
Islam's Koran: 5:33 (or 5:37):- The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His apostle and strive to make mischief in the land is only this, that they should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides or they should be imprisoned;
Sounds like there is a shortage of Christian lawyers up there.
