From the article: Through the sealing power performed in the Temple, Mormons believe we can be together with our family forever through Jesus Christ. Heavenly Father sent Jesus Christ to pave the way for us to return to Him. This is the great plan of happiness!

The article states that "the sealing power performed in the Temple" is required for families to be together forever. That means the families are required to be "worthy" members of the LDS church.

Do you believe that as long as the LDS refuse to allow immediate family members to attend the weddings of their parents, children, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, best friends unless those family members are considered "worthy" by adhering to this set of rules that allows a "temple recommend" or ticket of admittance, they are honoring families?:

 Temple Recommend questions.

1 Do you have faith in and a testimony of God the Eternal Father, His Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost?

2 Do you have a testimony of the Atonement of Christ and of His role as Savior and Redeemer?

3 Do you have a testimony of the restoration of the gospel in these the latter days?

4 Do you sustain the President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as the Prophet, Seer, and Revelator and as the only person on the earth who possesses and is authorized to exercise all priesthood keys? Do you sustain members of the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles as prophets, seers, and revelators? Do you sustain the other General Authorities and local authorities of the Church?

5 Do you live the law of chastity?

6 Is there anything in your conduct relating to members of your family that is not in harmony with the teachings of the Church?

7 Do you support, affiliate with, or agree with any group or individual whose teachings or practices are contrary to or oppose those accepted by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

8 Do you strive to keep the covenants you have made, to attend your sacrament and other meetings, and to keep your life in harmony with the laws and commandments of the gospel?

9 Are you honest in your dealings with your fellowmen?

10 Are you a full-tithe payer?

11 Do your keep the Word of Wisdom?

12 Do you have financial or other obligations to a former spouse or children? If yes, are you current in meeting those obligations?

13 If you have previously received your temple endowment:

Do you keep the covenants that you made in the temple?
Do you wear the garment both night and day as instructed in the endowment and in accordance with the covenant you made in the temple?

14 Have there been any sins or misdeeds in your life that should have been resolved with priesthood authorities but have not been?

15 Do you consider yourself worthy to enter the Lord's house and participate in temple ordinances?

Do you really believe that Jesus Christ intended for His followers to have to meet this criteria in order to spend eternity in His presence. I don't.

I’m not about to second-guess Jesus. My only responsibility is to obey as many of His Commandments that I know of, and trust the rest to His tender mercies.

None of us is perfect, and the only thing we can do is strive for perfection. You and I both know we’ll never make it on this earth, but I believe that since Jesus knows the desires of our hearts, our needs and wants will be met in the Eternities with whatever rewards our efforts have merited.

I believe Jesus wants all the world to be with Him in Eternity, including all those who have gone before us, and all those who will come after. We both agree that the only way we can accomplish that is to believe in Him and obey His Word.

So what about all the people who have never heard of Jesus, and who never will? Don’t you think a Just Jesus would make provisions for such people? The temple accomplishes that with bastisms for the dead.

That’s what genealogy is all about. Once you have gone through the temple and gotten your own blessings, each time you go through after that is vicarious for someone who has passed on, be it in your family or someone elses. Eventually, all who have ever lived will know Jesus Christ and be saved.

Temples are not secret...they are sacred. They have been since the first one was built in Biblical times.

Here is what the scriptures have to say about that.

Matthew 22

8 Then saith he to his servants,

The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.

9 Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.

10 So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.

11 And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:

12 And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.

13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

14 For many are called, but few are chosen.
