There are all sorts of theories about someone other than Shakespeare having written the plays and sonnets of Shakespeare. The central problem with those theories is that not only is there no concrete proof for them, but there’s no reason to doubt the story as we have it (i.e. that Shakespeare wrote the plays).
And, that his work was criticized during his lifetime.
