A) that's personal.

B) It[s bogus. I mean you have meant it as a joke. How do you handle jokes about your side? How, when it's been shown that your side intends not to tell the truth but to create distractions shall I react to jokes about my side.

In any event, what you were joking about was a false charge made against us.

Maybe I need to lighten up. Maybe some of us might start thinking about the relationship between Christ and the Truth and then examine what the persistence in false arguments said to be intended to mislead says about that relationship. You claim a special relationship with the Spirit. So are lying and sewing dissension fruits of the Spirit?

I have a question, and hopefully someone can answer it for me.

Often I see Protestants posting titles of books written by Protestants aimed at Catholics, like Dr. Eckleburg posted here yesterday:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/religion/2023605/posts?page=1908#1908

And I have read portions of some of these books, which are available in any Christian bookstore, and from what I can tell, the thesis is always more or less the same. The theory is that Catholics believe (fill in the blank) and because they believe this they are quite possibly going to burn in hell. Catholic readers of the book or the Protestants who witness to them are told how grave this situation is and that the only possibility to assure Salvation is to leave the Church. Protestants are reminded that nothing is more important than this. What never seems to be addressed is the unsaid implication that the late, beloved parents, grandparents, spouses, siblings and children of these Catholics are burning in hell, but that it is too late for them.

This seems to be the general mode of apologetics in these bound, elongated tracts. It is not defense of Protestant doctrine, it is actually an attack on Catholic doctrine with a Protestant interpretation (often coupled with liberal doses of misrepresentation) of why the Church is wrong.

So, my question is this, can ANYBODY give me the name of a current or recent Catholic book that indicates that mainline Protestants are possibly damned for their beliefs? Can you tell me where to buy a SINGLE book that tells Protestants that they must become Catholic to be saved from the fires of hell?

Don't get mad my friend, but I know how you feel. It is really a reflection of how lost they are. It can happen to any of us. We really need to pray for God's children. We have been given so many blessings. The least we can do in return is be patient and loving, even to those who insult those who are precious to us. They don't know what they do.

FEBRUARY 15, 1996 OUR LORD'S MESSAGE given through Father Jack Spaulding

"My dear ones, I come to you this night to ask each of you the same question that I asked My disciples. 'Who do you say that I am?' But before you answer, I come to say another thing to you. It is this - you discriminate against Me when you choose sin. You ask Me to wait as you choose to do your will instead of the will of My Father and yours. My dear ones, this discrimination will eventually kill you. I ask you this night to stop discriminating against Me, your Lord; to stop choosing other gods rather than choosing the one true and only God; not to sell your birthright of eternal life for transitory happiness. My dear ones, what you judge as a long life is but an instant before God My Father and yours. Is discriminating against Me worth an eternity of pain. Of being away from the God Who created you and Who loves you? Again I ask you to stop this discrimination; to choose again the love that I offer you. In that choice you will answer with all of your heart that I am your Lord and Savior, the Messiah of your soul.

I bless you with peace this night, and I touch each of your hearts with My Mercy which is not only Mine but My Father's and Our Spirit. I Love You! Allow Me to love you!"

PS. for the rest of you, "Other God's" refer to sins like worshiping money, sex, food, drugs, drink, football, gambling. etc. and putting those things before God's will.
