Nonsense...stop thinking that you speak for God, because you do not......You do not know what I accept and what I reject...just your own biased opinion, is all that is coming from you...

[“Christian” isn’t a denomination or a particular church. It is a description of denominations that believe in Christ. Your analogy doesn’t work.]

Oh but it does. There isn’t a single denomination of the body of the Christian church that accepts Mormon doctrine as anything but a fraud. So the body of Christianity rejects Mormonism, just as LDS reject FLDS. Where we differ is that you will claim the body of Christianity has no right to reject LDS, but LDS can reject FLDS. Cognitive discontinuity anyone?

No the members of the Church of Latter Day Saints do not do this. This is done by offshoot cults such as the Fundemental Church of Latter Day Saints. These cults broke with LDS over polygamy and doctrines such as blood atonement. Please, please do not confuse them with LDS.
I say this as a non Mormon who disagrees with their theology.

Jesus did not always answer questions he was asked but you all seem to ignore.

Like I said the scripture admonish one for doing so towards those who are hostile towards your faith and even there were times Jesus did not reply to questions!

Under LDS teaching they have a living prophet. This means that the prophet who changed the earthly law of polygamy in order to gain statehood was behaving within the bonds of his office. LDS does not claim there will be no further revelation after Jesus Christ. How could they when Joseph Smith provided a new revelation and restored the Church ( this is their teaching not mine).

FLDS are like the Sedavacanits who claim to be Catholic. They can say what they want but neither history or their Church teaching supports their claims.

It is you who are full of nonsense; your own words show that you have rejected the truths contained with the Scriptures concerning false prophets and false religions.

Any religion which rejects the deity of Christ and the nature of God is a false religion.

If you have a problem with that, then I suggest your argue with God....because His opinion is what stands, not yours.

For my 60 years it’s been my experience that those who love Jesus as their Lord and Savior talk abput Him all the time...

Well, much of the time...

He is their “all in all”

And they are excited when they come across new people who love Jesus too...

There is a comradery and an instinct of belonging with the other person...part of the family and the Church, the Body of Christ, the Bride, has been discovered...

The bond is “the love of God that has been shed abroard in our hearts”

This is another person that i will spend eternity with...I want to know them better...

And in these threads, as the other Christians write about Jesus, the One I love, and Who is head over heels in love with me, I learn more and more about Him and these people become more important to me...

“That cult is to Mormonism what People’s Temple was to Protestants.”

But of course you are proving my point of logic. If the People’s Temple can be rejected by Protestants, and FLDS can be rejected by LDS, then why can’t Christians reject LDS as Christian?

Protestant churches of the Reformation do believe and declare the Nicene Creed. These churches came into existence in the 16th century hardly the 1960s.

I’m wondering what are the differences between LDS and this sect? Can you enumerate for me what the differences are which cause the LDS apologists at FR to reject them?

5 But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.

The uncomfortable reality is that the FLDS are closer to Joseph Smith Mormonism than the LDS themselves. This causes embarrassment, and therefore must be removed.

You did manage to get one thing right in that post...God’s opinion about me, is what is important...your opinion about me, is irrelevant..

Excuse me if I laugh, but there is no way you folks are looking for at this time, for HOPE from the LDS!

quote:
1 Peter 3
Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.

As I have stated the Bible also counsel that we do not have to answer every quetions to those who are hostile to my faith, and as I said there were time Jesus did not reply to questions put to him!

And your opinion concerning Mormonism not being a false religion based on a false prophet is wrong, nevertheless, and shows that you reject the God’s Word concerning that, which is exactly what I stated earlier.

I have no “hope” in the LDS. But YOU do.

You claim to be a Christian, therefore, I am quoting from Christian Scriptures as to what Christians are told to do, rather than what you claim.

It can’t be, because the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints ( commonly known as “Mormons”) abandoned polygamy more than 100 years ago.

Last time I looked D&C 132 was still on the books. That everlasting revelation clearly states that anyone who refuses to engage in polygamy is damned.

4 For behold, I reveal unto you a new and an everlasting covenant; and if ye abide not that covenant, then are ye damned; for no one can reject this covenant and be permitted to enter into my glory.
5 For all who will have a blessing at my hands shall abide the law which was appointed for that blessing, and the conditions thereof, as were instituted from before the foundation of the world.
61 And again, as pertaining to the law of the priesthoodif any man espouse a virgin, and desire to espouse another, and the first give her consent, and if he espouse the second, and they are virgins, and have vowed to no other man, then is he justified; he cannot commit adultery for they are given unto him; for he cannot commit adultery with that that belongeth unto him and to no one else.
62 And if he have ten virgins given unto him by this law, he cannot commit adultery, for they belong to him, and they are given unto him; therefore is he justified.

Now if we believe that this was an "everlasting covenant" then the only "True Mormons" are the Polygamists.

NO!

I wonder about anyone who would answer those who are hostile to their faith, that would share with them, things of great importance, and even scriptures admonish of doing such a thing.

So...you won't tell us what salvation is and how to obtain it.

Just great...

By the way, I have shared the Gospel with many who are opposed to Christianity? (...even on these threads)

As the Ultimate Example, Christ shared the Gospel to Saul on the road to Damascus and Saul was on the road to Damascus to further persecute Christians and the cause of Christ. Why would Christ do that for Saul, the Pharisee of all Pharisees, but you won't do that for me/us?
