I know I’m in no position to say any of this, each of are different in our approaches, and especially considering my past posting history, but I am truly trying to turn over a new leaf. I’ve read through several of these back and forth posts, many directed at me, and will not be able to finish this thread due to lack of time, but I wanted to leave you all with what I came across this week in the book of Timothy.
I think it speaks directly to what we see on each and every one of these Anti-Mormon threads. Forgive me for being presumptuous, but it really hit home, and I thought I’d share it.
2 Timothy 2:
21 But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.
24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves;
In fact, I am also changing my tagline to reflect verse 16 as well. I think FR would me a much better place if we would all heed these words.
Good passage, Sevenbak. Time for another round of introspection, I suppose.
Those from second Timoythy are good; but I think these from first Timothy are better:
1 Timothy 1:3-4
3. As I urged you when I went into Macedonia, stay there in Ephesus so that you may command certain men not to teach false doctrines any longer
4. nor to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies. These promote controversies rather than God’s work—which is by faith.
