Well, it was the same “something” that told me that the Bible is God’s Word, and that Jesus is the Christ.
Whatever you want to call that “something.” I call it “God.” If it wasn’t, then I’m still getting pretty good advice, don’t you think?
Something told me that Joseph smith was also a serial statutory rapist, a convicted fraud, the operator of an illegal bank, an adulterer, the father of numerous bastard children, a pirate (who forced steamboats to pay him booty if they wished to pass the Mississippi River through Nauvoo), a corrupt city administrator, the owner of a saloon (in his own house, no less), a murderer, a thief, a polygamist, a compulsive liar, and a master in scamming his flock with land flips and an overpriced store.
God knew Joseph Smith even better than that so this list of his evil doings is incomplete
