JOEL OSTEEN BLESSES THE MORMON CHURCH

OSTEEN VIDEO on YOUTUBE

In the Apprising Ministries article Joel Osteen: Apprising His Word Faith Teachings I have clearly showed those who are looking for the truth that Osteen teaches the exact same positive confession Word Faith theology and prosperity gospel as did his late father John, Kenneth “Dad” Hagin (1917-2003), and which is also currently being preached by Hagin’s dutiful disciple Kenneth Copeland and Oneness Pentecostal T.D. Jakes for that matter.

The unique twist that Joel Osteen has added to the mix is the syrupy sweet self-help shtick of Robert Schuller cleverly mixed together for his most popular brand of “Cotton-Candy Christianity.” I am not judging his motivations, or his heart, so I can only say that Osteen’s found the way to preach that his god wants you to have: “Heaven while you're on earth, and then when you die, you get...ah—well, even more Heaven.”

Sadly another sign of the growing spiritual blindness and apostasy in the American Christian Church right now that someone like Joel Osteen is steadily gaining much acceptance even among mainstream evangelicalism. And this comes despite a theology completely consistent with other mainstays on the Trinity Broadcasting Network such as Benny Hinn, Rod Parsley and “pastor” Paula White.

But the news gets even worse for Joel Osteen because running on a parallel track the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the Mormon Church) is also beginning to make inroads toward being considered a legitimate form of Christianity. As case in point we offer Mormons and Evangelicals Ready to Worship Together? But what does this even have to do with Joel Osteen? Well, I’m so glad you asked.

Osteen heads up arguably the largest evangelical church in the country. So here he was on Fox News Sunday a couple of weeks ago saying that in his mind Mormons are genuine Christians as I originally pointed out in Joel Osteen: Mitt Romney And Mormons Are Christians. But the saddest news of all may be that now Joel Osteen has pronounced blessing on the non-Christian cult of the Mormon Church as being Christian; and there is no outrage, and no evangelical leaders publicly calling Osteen to account.

No instead, it’s just business as usual in the apostatizing American Christian Church saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace (Jeremiah 6:14, KJV).

Mitt Romney says Jesus Christ is his Savior and the Savior of all mankind.

 The Mormon creed reads thus...

The Articles of Faith
of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

  1. We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.
  2. We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam's transgression.
  3. We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.
  4. We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.
  5. We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.
  6. We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth.
  7. We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth.
  8. We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.
  9. We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.
  10. We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory.
  11. We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.
  12. We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.
  13. We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

Joseph Smith

When you say “Mormons aren’t Christians” you are saying that we do not love the OUR Savior and that is very hateful. The OUR Savior is everything to us.

I sometimes get all in a dither over the anti Mormon rhetoric on this site.

Sometimes??

Try THIS and see if it sticks in YOUR throat!!!

http://scriptures.lds.org/en/js_h/1/19#19
17 It no sooner appeared than I found myself delivered from the enemy which held me bound. When the light rested upon me I saw two Personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the other—This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him!
18 My object in going to inquire of the Lord was to know which of all the sects was right, that I might know which to join. No sooner, therefore, did I get possession of myself, so as to be able to speak, than I asked the Personages who stood above me in the light, which of all the sects was right (for at this time it had never entered into my heart that all were wrong)—and which I should join.
19 I was answered that I must join none of them, for they were all wrong; and the Personage who addressed me said that all their creeds were an abomination in his sight; that those professors were all corrupt; that: “they draw near to me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me, they teach for doctrines the commandments of men, having a form of godliness, but they deny the power thereof.”
20 He again forbade me to join with any of them; and many other things did he say unto me, which I cannot write at this time. When I came to myself again, I found myself lying on my back, looking up into heaven. When the light had departed, I had no strength; but soon recovering in some degree, I went home. And as I leaned up to the fireplace, mother inquired what the matter was. I replied, “Never mind, all is well—I am well enough off.” I then said to my mother,
“I have learned for myself that Presbyterianism is not true.”

YOUR Organization still claims that that bit of HATE is still in force.

Do YOU feel the same way?

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Redeemer, the Savior, the Great Jehovah of the Old Testament, the Savior of the New Testament, He is my personal Savior. Heavenly Father sent His Son to die for me and the Holy Ghost tells me this is True. I am a Mormon.

YOUR Organization, excommunicates people who follow, to the letter, some of your D&C's.

Is that considered hateful?

I could go on and on, but I can tell you one thing. I pray that my Mormon friends will come to understand what God’s grace is all about.

HA!!!

This just PROVES you hate us!

Saying that we do NOT know GOD's grace is SO hurtful!

Someone I know very well was excommunicated TWICE from the LDS Church. After 14 years, the Priesthood Blessings have been restored. During those 14 years, he never once doubted that the Church is true.

I love my Church that it does not turn a blind eye to sin. Today was “fast and testimony” Sacrament meeting and it was glorious! The person I spoke of bore his Testimony and the presence of the Holy Ghost was felt very strongly.

I am sad that this site continues to blast Mormons. We are not victims. We are just a peculiar people.

That’s it . . worldly Christianity (if there is such a thing really) is just that . . a business, headed up generally by a petted “pastor” or petted power couple whom the congregation leaders lavish with a large percentage of the total church income because, after all, he’s “ordained” and has an inside track with the Lord that no one else has. So, the cream is skimmed off the top for the power couple, and by the time the electric bill and music supplies and the rest of the operations bills are paid, the Lord gets a pittance that may go to the poor or to Christian missions. I think it is using Christ as a means to build a personal kingdom in many cases. (Oh, I know, I know, YOUR pastor is different . . and the Lord bless him if he is, but a lot of them aren’t . .)

ken silva isn’t my pastor... but sure wish he was.

Actually my pastor regularly gets up there and tells his congregation to come to him and correct him if he says or does something stupid. He acknowledges that he may not respond to correction rightly either sometimes but that in his heart of hearts he wants truth and wants above all to be told the truth and be corrected.
