Asked of God and began reading the BofM, and the result has been rejected by Mormonism Apologists at FR. And mine is not the only negative answer that the Apologists have rejected. If it doesnt fit the hive template it is not of the hive dontchaknow.
Actually, I believe I am at least one of those you are "Not" talking about here, and I asked a few questions which you declined to answer.
IIRC, you started reading the BOM for one day, and met a Bible study teacher who prayed for you and you then felt guilty reading it so you stopped.
Also IIRC, your best friend (at the time) was the one who asked you to read it, and I asked if you had talked to him about feeling guilty, you did not answer. I further asked if you had prayed about it, or just had this Guilty feeling. Again you declined to answer.
If you are going to hold this up as a negative response then those of us who have had positive responses, are going to ask a few questions just to see if you actually met the criteria for an answer or not. from your original story, you didn't read enough of the Book of Mormon to know much if anything about it.
Sadly, you will now say I am denying your "Testimony" which I am not, I just want to understand it, and you will not answer the simplest question, questions that I have been asked and answered many times on FR about
my testimony.
JFTR, the promise in the BOM is:
Moroni 10:3-5 3 Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your hearts.
4 And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.
5 And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.
I have asked the least intrusive questions I can in the most respectful way that I can, and yet I get no answer, what would you think if the situation were reversed?

Thank you, it wasnt necessary to ping me, mLady. I have chosen to stop responding to the hive brigade at this time. Dealing with their deceptions, mischaracterizations of posts, twisting of Bible verses, and their willful blindness is becoming oppressive, plus the religion forum is not where I need to be debating these folks.
ROTFLOL!
Debate?
Not in the religion forum?
MHG, you crack me up, you make statements, then will not answer questions on them, that is not
Debate.
Debate has a back and a forth, if one side makes statements it cannot, or will not support, then there is no debate, only drive by posting.

We know how Scripture defines a FALSE prophet! I thought the subject here was Mormon prophets.
I don't see your answer to my question, so I'll pose it again.
Do Mormon prophets normally let their listeners know when they are speaking inspired words or not?
Or is it left to future Mormon generations to make that determination based on the level of difficulty required to explain what was spoken by the prophet? (ref: Young's Adam-God speech, prophesies that the moon is inhabited)

Do Mormon prophets normally let their listeners know when they are speaking inspired words or not? I believe that once they are on the quorum of 12, everything they say is taken as prophetic. Individual mormons are encouraged to seek private revelation

It is on faith we accept those testimonies...
Indeed.
You have to hope that these folks where NOT in on the scheme.
I am not deriding the fact that you HAVE faith; but that you've got so MUCH faith!
My faith is based at least partly on some physical evidence that has turned up over the years.

35 Was Abraham, therefore, under condemnation? Verily I say unto you, Nay; for I, the Lord, commanded it. The the lord should be able to SHOW this 'command' from his scriptures.

Wouldnt be nice to have modern day revelation to settle these misunderstandings?I'm wondering...
Are there any questions or misgivings that exist in LDS theology today?
Things that haven't been explicitly defined?

Ask him to shake hands with you, but he will not move, because it is contrary to the order of heaven for a just man to deceive; but he will still deliver his message. Something is wrong with this assertion:
RAHAB, a women in the lineage of Jesus Christ, decieved and lied and did not turn in the spies to proper authorites; yet; we find her described as being RIGHTEOUS...
Matthew 1:5
Salmon the father of Boaz, whose mother was Rahab, Boaz the father of Obed, whose mother was Ruth, Obed the father of Jesse,
Hebrews 11:31
By faith the prostitute Rahab, because she welcomed the spies, was not killed with those who were disobedient.
James 2:25
In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute considered righteous for what she did when she gave lodging to the spies and sent them off in a different direction?

So, the new monk goes to the head abbot to question this, pointing out that if someone made even a small error in the first copy, it would never be picked up. But you guys can't go check the original.
And, using man's intellect, your organization has made numerous 'small' changes to the BoM over the years.
Why?
Wasn't JS' original words good enough?

Hey, friend - where, in the comment to which you refer, did I say anything about an ORIGINAL manuscript? It's merely a ploy to put YOU on the defensive, while he slips away.

5 And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things. And the Bible says:
KJV 2 Timothy 2:15
15. Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
KJV Acts 17:10-11
10. And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews.
11. These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

Do Mormon prophets normally let their listeners know when they are speaking inspired words or not? I really have no idea!
As with all things Mormon, any difficulties that now seem to be evident will surely be cleared up by later revelations.
(They reserve that right.)

Individual mormons are encouraged to seek private revelationCompare to...
2 Peter 1:20
Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

“Contrary to popular belief there is a unbroken line, since the crucifixion, of consistent Christian truth about the nature of God.. It’s just that a lot of people don’t understand.”
Now, show me the original manuscripts that truly show the concept of the Trinity WITHOUT nicean or greek interpretation.
