Amen! I’m really surprised to hear the judgmental tone here. The MAN asked for prayers during his time of discernment. Let’s offer up prayers for him, the widow and the EWTN audience instead of jumping to judgment or conclusions.

It’s nice to think of a priest or religious as super human without the temptations or sins in life. They are representatives of God, not God. I remember a brother talking about all of the LOGS God puts before him. Sometimes he tripped and fell, sometimes he was able to step over gracefully. Most of the time he struggled to travel over the LOG with slips and scrapes. The LOG is the Love Of God.

Prayers for Fr. Francis, the EWTN family and members here. Drop the stones.

That's what irritates me so much about Fr. Francis's letter. His time of discernment was over when he took his final vows. To abandon his vows and hook up with this widow is just wrong on so many levels.

I do pray for him, but I especially pray for all of the poor souls who will lose heart and doubt the Truths of the Faith because they have loved him and it seems like he's about to let them down in a big way. I pray that no young people will set aside thoughts about vocation because Fr. Francis seems like he's about to jettison his.

Drop the stones.

No one is proposing that Francis Mary be executed.

They are saying that this cannot be whitewashed or wished away or sugarcoated.

It is what it is, and it needs to be handled according to the law of the Church - not according to sentimentality.
