I have to admit, when I hear somebody say "well the Bible PLAINLY teaches..." I immediately brace myself for some whacked out statement. And it doesn't matter who it's from.

Usually, it's not too whacky, but I am just about sick of that phrase.

Especially when it takes 10 books, 14 tapes, and 12 seminars in order to find that "plain" teaching.

Do you find some ambiguity in these verses?

"Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:

And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world." -- 1 John 4:2-3
