Exactly as Chesterton describes, I had ceased to pull against the Catholic Church, and was definitely being tugged towards her. I was beginning to ask that she be “fairly treated” and a secret fondness was waxing in the hidden recesses of my heart.

For what it's worth, that's where my journey began as well. From the time I was a child, I had heard and read some pretty outrageous things said about the Church, and the more I heard, the more my common sense told me that this was just not fair. Researching the issues led me to ask why so many people were attacking the Church so vociferously. And just as Chesterton says, once I began looking for Fairness, I found Truth.

In the last paragraph:

**She is fiercely attacked from without and from within—she always has been. That she stands—and stand she does—can certainly not to be attributed to any human effort, nor to some bizarre coincidence, but solely to the promise given to Peter almost 2000 years ago, “the gates of hell shall not prevail . . . “**

Another “Wow” statement.
