There is no one view of sola scriptura, that's the point. If there were, there would be only one Protestant denomination. If Scripture were meant to be the sole rule of faith, how can the plethora of denominations be seen as anything other than an absolute refutation of this non-biblical, man-made doctrine? You see I learned long ago on this very forum, from those that hold to the doctrine, that there is no uniform definition of understanding of what “Sola Scriptura” is. It seems to range form the very strict if-its-not-in-the-Bible-it’s-not-from-God, to the if-it-dosent-conflict-with-scripture-it’s-safe usage.
If sola scriptura is of God, why does He let His children wonder in the maze of denominations the doctrine has spawned?
