Why do you say "if it was intended for someone else, we don't need to read it?" Are you saying that a poem is only worthwhile to the person it is written to?

Irishtenor's question was rhetorical. You've proven his point -- the Bible is written to everyone who reads and believes it, by the grace of God, and not just to the Apostles.

yes, and for Christians, for the purpose of correction and teaching - you have read 2 Tim 3:16, no?

But where does it say that an INDIVIDUAL WILL be going to heaven? The promise is for those who persevere in Christ, a GENERAL teaching. NOWHERE does Paul mention specific people who will be saved for heaven of EVEN HIS OWN TIME, and CERTAINLY not of 2007 AD...

The Scriptures do not tell us the specific individuals who are going to heaven. They give us guidelines to FOLLOW so that we, too, may enter the Kingdom. These teachings become saving ONLY when we follow them.
