Irishtenor's question was rhetorical. You've proven his point -- the Bible is written to everyone who reads and believes it, by the grace of God, and not just to the Apostles.

yes, and for Christians, for the purpose of correction and teaching - you have read 2 Tim 3:16, no?

But where does it say that an INDIVIDUAL WILL be going to heaven? The promise is for those who persevere in Christ, a GENERAL teaching. NOWHERE does Paul mention specific people who will be saved for heaven of EVEN HIS OWN TIME, and CERTAINLY not of 2007 AD...

The Scriptures do not tell us the specific individuals who are going to heaven. They give us guidelines to FOLLOW so that we, too, may enter the Kingdom. These teachings become saving ONLY when we follow them.

Regards

Huh?

"And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.

But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?

And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.

And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.

And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise." -- Luke 23:39-43
