OSAS never has made sense to me.

Me either. But that's not what my post is about. (And not all Protestants believe once saved always saved)

If you ever decide to start a thread on that, please ping me to it. I was under the impression that all do believe that.

And a sincere thank you to AmericanMother for my first tag line.

** (And not all Protestants believe once saved always saved)**

This is good to know. I thought that it was a belief held by most Protestants. Why do some believe it then?

It almost like the opposite of what they used to say about Catholics (and maybe some still do) -- that Catholics can go out and sin all week and then go to Confession on Saturday and know that everything is OK.

The OSAS theory always baffled me much for the same reason, that Protestants once they thought they were saved could go out and sin all they wanted and it didn't matter, because the believed they had been saved. I believe that Christ called the Pharisees and Saduccees hypocrites for believing that if they kept the rules in public they would be saved. (Forget what they did in private.)
