What an ordeal this must be for Episcopalians! May God have mercy on them.

So does Robinson also get de-consecrated?

The ECUSA comes bearing gifts of gold, frankincense and K-Y Jelly.

Welcome to the new, improved Episcopal Church where the only sin that is recognized is orthodoxy, and a belief in Jesus as Lord and Saviour.

Today's service features our very own contemporary band, music, environmentally friendly candles with dancing, faux flames. The service will conclude with a Holy Eucharist light refreshments of wafers and a sip of wine at the altar in memory of all those who have been injured because of our murderous, patriarchal, non-inclusive past.

Coming soon to a diocese near you. (If it isn't already there.)

Not good enough. It's like children who smack each other and when the parent turns they say they won't do it again, only to do it again.

This is a farce.

The resolution is non-binding and only asks Bishops to "exercise restraint by not consenting to the consecration of any candidate to the episcopate whose manner of life presents a challenge to the wider church".

This is clearly a smoke screen and does not address the warnings given to the Episcopal Church of the United States by the rest of the world's Anglican Bishops.

"to exercise restraint by not consenting to the consecration of any candidate (for bishop) whose manner of life presents a challenge to the wider church and will lead to further strains on communion."

The words "not consenting" will probably be seen as strong enough for sympathetic primates like the Archbishop of Canterbury to see an intent to respond to the Windsor Report. I think this is the fudge that was expected, and clarity is not achieved.

What does it matter? Not allowing in any more. There shouldn't have been any in the first place.

What is this move, an appeasement after saying Jesus wasn't the Only to God?
