Feminist icon and former Al Gore sartorian guru Naomi Wolf has found Christ
"Feminist icon and former Al Gore sartorian guru Naomi Wolf has found Christ. I'm not comfortable commenting on her conversion, except to say I wish her well. But I do want to quote an account from the Glasgow Sunday Herald:"
Revered as a feminist icon, then slated for being an intellectual lightweight, Naomi Wolf has experienced highs as well as lows
and then she met Jesus
"'I wasnt myself in this visual experience, she continues. I was a 13-year-old boy sitting next to him [Jesus] and feeling feelings Id never felt in my lifetime, of a 13-year-old boy being with an older male who he really loves and admires and loves to be in the presence of. It was probably the most profound experience of my life. I havent talked about it publicly.'
Well, no wonder. She confesses she still feels awkward speaking about it. Its very embarrassing. Were intellectuals, were on the left, were not supposed to talk like that, she says later."

I agree with Charolette Hays comment, "I'm not comfortable commenting on her conversion, except to say I wish her well." Ditto. Goes to show that no one is beyond hope.

Maybe its just my strange way of looking at things, but is Naomi Wolfe saying that she had a dream where she was a 13 year old boy sitting with Jesus? If so, do you think the fact that she sees herself as a male have anything to do with her adoption of feminist ideology which is most commonly found amongst those men who are also living as women (Chastity Bono, Rosie O'Donnell, Janet Reno, etc).
Or do you think we should just be glad to know she is finally she is turning to Jesus instead of GLAAD? There aren't any people who 'found' Jesus who are currently attacking us in the media so this would generally be considered a good sign.

I never, ever, ever believe high ranking democrats when they "convert." It is always just a poll-driven manipulation, like the Clintons' holding bibles.
Democrats are deceitful, amoral, and loathe Christians. I would love to be wrong here.

I thought Matthew, coming from his taxman role to Jesus convert, was a radical conversion, but coming from Al Gore's sartorian guru to Jesus convert may be an even more drastic change. All the same, I wish her well.

From the second link above:
I was completely dumbfounded but I actually had this vision of
of Jesus, and Im sure it was Jesus. Anticipating a raised eyebrow, she adds quickly: But it wasnt this crazy theological thing; it was just this figure who was the most perfected human being full of light and full of love. And completely accessible. Any of us could be like that. There was light coming out of him holographically, simply because he was unclouded. But any of us could become that as human beings.
...
The experience has made her happier than ever. Shes anxious about the repercussions of going public on her life-altering moment, but insists that her commitment to feminism remains as strong as ever . I dont want to be co-opted as the poster child for any religion or any agenda, she adds. There are a lot of people out there just waiting for some little Jewish feminist to cross over. I so much want to distance this from Christianity. It has nothing to do with any religion whatsoever. But in the meantime Wolf has been doing some intensive reading about what the rabbi Jesus had to say, as a Jew not as this whole Christian construct but as a teacher and a social activist, as a rabbi and as a healer.

Just like Jane Fonda found Christ?
I hope she really has. But lot's of celebrities "find Christ", just like they find yoga or a new boytoy. It runs just about as deep, too.

I hope in her searching she truly comes to know Jesus as he really is, and not just as the political symbol she may be trying to make of him.

I only hope this is a genuine conversion, unlike the one Hanoi Jane purportedly experienced some years ago. She exhibited no obvious fruits of a spiritually regenerated life.

This is utter garbage. No one can "become that [i.e. Jesus] as human beings".

I'm more interested in what she believes about Him and what she believes His teachings are.

not as this whole Christian construct but as a teacher and a social activist, as a rabbi and as a healer.
Good luck with all that. If Jesus wasn't the Christ, the Son of the Everliving God, then he was a madman. One can't divorce the study of Christ's words and deeds from his identity as God, the Second Person of the Trinity who rose from the dead for the forgivness of our sins.
If Ms. Wolf is as smart as we're told she is, then she'll no doubt come to that conclusion on her own.

He also declared himself to be GOD. My guess is that Naomi's met a lot of people who think they're god, so that's not too surprising for her. The difference is Jesus truly IS God!
