Can YOU say for a certainty that the dogma in one Protestant grouping (say the Calvinists) is the same as in another (the Baptists say) or even within those groups would the dogma be the same? you say that Even very "different" soteriologies like the Arminians and Calvinists here hold probably 90 % of our doctrine in common only an alteration of the order of salvation . but that 10% of difference in BASIC DOCTRINENot at all. That 10% is in soteroliogy . It encompasses the Ordo Salutis.
I know Catholics that deny the "infallibility " of the Pope, the need to confess to a priest, the need to go to mass on Sundays under penalty of mortal sin, I have seen figures on Catholic web sites that say less than 40% of catholics believe in the "real presence" .I have met Catholics that do not believe in purgatory. Needless to say around 30 % or more of abortions are on Catholic women, vasectomies and tubals are commonplace as is the use of Birth control. So doctrinal distinctives are found within your own church body, people just do not discuss it.
Protestants feel free to examine scripture and search for the truth . Not much hidden that needs to be brought to the light.

note that the infallibility is limited to dogmatic decisions made ex-cathedra. This is a very limited list. Most of the persons who oppose this infallibility consider it to mean that everything the Pope says is gospel.
