There's a difference between a rejection of basic Dogma and a difference of opinion on teachings. The Catholic church encompasses a "catholic" point of view with varying rites -- the Syro-Malankar, Syro-Malabar, Maronite and Latin being examples. There is no difference of basic faith as in the case of the myriad Protestant groupings.

The study was about the leadership not the doctrine. Every Independent baptist church was counted as a separate denomination because they do not have a single leadership.

Every independent Church was counted as its own denomination, but if you went to the websites of these churches you would see that they all actually hold the same doctrine.

Even very "different" soteriologies like the Arminians and Calvinists here hold probably 90 % of our doctrine in common only an alteration of the order of salvation .

That is a lesser difference than if you took a survey of how many Registered Catholics agree with the church on many issues.

Then it was not germane to the discussion. Dion pointed out that your groupings have varied dogmas that differ from each other. The Catholic Church encompasses different rites, but the basic dogma is the same -- that is why the Church is one. Ditto for the Orthodox.

Can YOU say for a certainty that the dogma in one Protestant grouping (say the Calvinists) is the same as in another (the Baptists say) or even within those groups would the dogma be the same? you say that Even very "different" soteriologies like the Arminians and Calvinists here hold probably 90 % of our doctrine in common only an alteration of the order of salvation . but that 10% of difference in BASIC DOCTRINE. The Catholic Church does not have that. We don't have UNITARIANS who deny the Trinity. You would have that if you put yourself under that umbrella term called Protestantism. It's akin to that umbrella term called Hinduism -- Hinduism also encompasses myriad beliefs (to an extent even Buddhism and Sikhism are Hindu religions).
