"Alarming Tensions" in Anglican Church
American Anglican Council ^ | 10/19/2005 | The Bahama Journal

Tensions in the worldwide Anglican Church are increasing “at an alarming rate” over issues of homosexuality, the head of the Anglican Church in The Bahamas His Grace Archbishop Drexel Gomez warned in his annual charge Monday night.

The Episcopal Church in the United States [ECUSA] and the arm in Canada have fiercely stood their ground about condoning homosexuality, though the former has offered regret. Anglican traditionalists - Archbishop Gomez included - remain opposed to it.

"As a province, we have to determine our future relationship with ECUSA and the province of Canada," Archbishop Gomez told a packed congregation at Christ Church Cathedral in downtown Nassau.

"Our present official position is that we exist in a state of impaired relationship at the formal level with both provinces. However, if these provinces, through their convention or general synod, refuse to accept the prevailing Anglican consensus as represented by the Windsor Report, we will have to consider moving beyond a state of impaired communion."

"Impaired" commuion? Isn't the truth rather that there is no agreement, and there is therefore no communion?

I submit that the church that doesn't stand on scripture is not the church of Jesus Christ.

homosexuals want vindication for their depravity... those that go with them and flaunt this by stating that the Lord is accepting of the "gay lifestyle" need only read the Bible....

We all fall short of the ideal, we confess our sins and pray to God asking him to forgive us for all of our sins...and will somehow help us find his grace and mercy in our life as we try to find the way . but we don't go and change what "sin" is.

If a person is gay he need not answer to me or any of us.... but he must answer to somebody that knows his true nature and his true motives.

The "church" can only change it's policy but can not change the true nature of the word of God or what he has given us any more than it can state that the earth will rotate in the opposite direction starting in one hour.

The church or Reverend or all the "lay/gay" clergy can state what they want but it doesn't "change" anything other than what they hope is a perception of them as sexual addicts with poor impulse control and the inability to identify with their gender. Some would call it a mental illness others would call it "sin"....

I'm too busy trying to get my house in order, but would appreciate it if they didn't make it necessary to talk about homosexuality to my 8 year old, who gets it flung in her face from "Will & Grace" ads, to Queer Eye for the Straight Guy... to the network that proudly displayed the "top 10 reasons it's cool to be Gay"....

When the gay activists like the liberal activists take over an organization like a church, Girl Scouts, AARP, Catholic Priesthood, United Way, or any of the others it is sad to witness what I call the "behavior of the Fly".... whatever they don't eat, they sh#t on and destroy.

It appears that all the hubbub is about homosexuality, but it's more about the authority of Holy Scripture.

Is scripture indeed the word of God. The revisionist are attempting to convince people that you can't really take the bible literally.

The revisionist would have you believe that Jesus is really not the only way to the father. I can't stomach some of the comments made by Swing, Robinson and Griswald.

The revisionist want people to believe that the bible is only part of God's word. That God's Revelation to the world is continuing in the form of equality for homosexuals. Homosexual lifestyles are love and love carries the day. blah blah blah.

"behavior of the Fly".

It's nothing new. Kipling described it well.
