The blog, Victorious Living, is of a man who came to Christ and is fighting the sin of acting on homosexual desires. He spills his guts to profess the changing power of Christ. His latest post is one of a confession of his continual dependance on God and expressing his repentant heart. I was especially moved when he wrote:
Now, those of you reading this who know Jesus will see right away that I was heading for a lesson. I slowly began to cease from my abiding in Jesus. No time for bible study, no time for prayer, no time for my accountability partners, no time for God. I had it figured out and I had won. What a fool! I began to notice a stirring in my mind for the old ways...Oh how quickly I found myself in the mud once again.
But Jesus is good, and his Spirit is quick to rescue. He has showed me, once again, that all I have and I have become is from him alone, and not of my own doing. (Life Lessons, Victorious Living)
Traditional Anglican ping, continued in memory of its founder Arlin Adams. A brother in Christ sharing how he stays on the straight and narrow. No matter ~what~ besetting sin each struggles with, Jesus does give a way of escape, He does free our soul, like a bird, out of the snare of the fowler.
