Hello friend,

Thanks for the ping, I got this from biblegateway.com 1.

Corinthians 11:7 Or 4 Every man who prays or prophesies with long hair dishonors his head. 5 And every woman who prays or prophesies with no covering (of hair) on her head dishonors her head—she is just like one of the "shorn women." 6 If a woman has no covering, let her be for now with short hair, but since it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair shorn or shaved, she should grow it again. 7 A man ought not to have long hair.

From what I gather here is that for women, the covering is teh hair, uncut hair. Please shed some more light on this for me.

Thanks,

navygal

That seems to be what he is saying. I really don't think this particular passage is all that relevant in our time and culture.

Keep reading. This was more or less cultural for that time period and Paul clearly did not insist on it for everyone.

But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God. (1Co 11:16)

When I came to Christ I was a long haired freaky person. Right now I'm a short haired freaky person, but if I had my choice I'd probably revert back. I don't like getting my hair cut. At my age though, if I let it grow out, it would probably fall out from the weight.
