Do you feel His presence?
A miracle happened yesterday at Toronto Airport. 309 people escaped a plane crash, mostly unharmed. 42 reported minor injuries. "Experts" are shaking their heads in disbelief.
In Washington DC a comatose brain dead woman delivered a healthy baby today. The woman was on life support during the last 3 months of her pregnancy and was able to carry her child to term.
The unprecedented repair to our shuttle was a success. A complicated and never done before mission was carried out in the universe and will enable our astronauts to return safely back to earth.
Praise our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Feel free to add to the list.
ping to you
A much overused term these days.
Jesus said, "Take away the stone." Martha, the sister of him who was dead, said to Him, "Lord, by this time there is a stench, for he has been dead four days." Jesus said to her, "Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?" Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead man was lying. And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, "Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. And I know that You always hear Me, but because of the people who are standing by I said this, that they may believe that You sent Me." Now when He had said these things, He cried with a loud voice, "Lazarus, come forth!" And he who had died came out bound hand and foot with graveclothes, and his face was wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, "Loose him, and let him go." (John 11:39-44)God in His providence is merciful at times, and at times brings bitterness upon those who dwell in the earth. Don't confuse ordinary divine providence with miracles.
Absolute HOGWASH! Lurkers, God is always GOOD! We bring the nonsense upon ourselves, reaping that we have sowed.
"Don't confuse ordinary divine providence with miracles."
The only confusion is what that means to any readers.
EXPECT MIRACLES...THEN EXPECT BIGGER MIRACLES--praising and thanking God every step of the way :>)
"The unprecedented repair to our shuttle was a success. A complicated and never done before mission was carried out in the universe and will enable our astronauts to return safely back to earth."
They ain't back yet!
Remember, never count your chickens till they hatch.
This truly was a miracle. Perhaps someone on the plane was praying. "He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. . . He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge . . . "
That, my FRiend, is karma, and that ain't Christian.
If we reaped what we sow, we'd all be in hell all the time.
But Christians are saved by God's grace alone.
It's a gift of mercy.
Thank you, God, for sparing the lives of 309 people yesterday, for bringing a new baby into this world, and for fixing the shuttle.
As God wills.
I am guilty of this very thing! Your admonishment has not fallen on deaf ears, thanks TC.
Hosea 8:7
For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind...
This would be my life's verse, if God had not saved me by His grace alone.
Instead, my life verse is
ITimothy 1:15-16
Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. However, for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show all longsuffering, as a pattern to those who are going to believe on Him for everlasting life.
This is the "miracle:" that God would save a wretched sinner like me. That He would condescend to give life to someone dead in trespasses & sin.
Absolutely correct TC. I would just caveat this with God works EVERYTHING together for good with those who love the Lord and are called for His purpose. Even our most bitter disappointments are meant to train us for His kingdom. Christians are always successful weather we lose or win. We don't need miracles unless God deems it necessary.
RIP, Susan.
Indeed, God is good. But that does not change the fact that He causes "ill" to come upon the children of men according to His good pleasure.
Who is he who speaks and it comes to pass, When the Lord has not commanded it? Is it not from the mouth of the Most High That woe and well-being proceed? Why should a living man complain, A man for the punishment of his sins? Let us search out and examine our ways, And turn back to the Lord; 41 Let us lift our hearts and hands To God in heaven. (Lam. 3:37-40)My point is that simply labeling something a "miracle" does not make it true.
Everything passes for a "miracle" today, from having two socks that match at the end of the week to the Red Sox winning the World Series. These are mere sentimental "miracles". Accounts of true miracles are found in the Bible for comparison.
That, my FRiend, is karma, and that ain't Christian.
AMEN!!
Prayers offered up for the families of the 21 Ohio Marines killed in Iraq in the past week.

Define miracle and contrast that with your definition of God's supernatural intervention.
If we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord's. Romans 14:8
Amen.
"According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.
For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain." -- Phil. 1:20-21
