When I took a Worlds Religions class in college everything was going just fine until we got to Christianity.
The emotional response by the majority of the class was absolutely violent and hate-filled.

Very nice article. Thanks for posting it.
the world's leaders are taking pains to point out that true Islam is a religion of peace
Islam will really be a religion of peace when its followers who are unhappy with "the West" join behind non-violent leaders similar to Walesa, Gandhi, or King.

(Muslims who really want peace should unite behind a non-violent leader like Gandhi, King, or Walesa.)

Jesus' mission was to abolish the religious traditions that had perverted the worship of God into something to be worshipped instead of God.The lurkers on this forum can clearly observe the worshiping of these perverted, religious traditions these cults have ensconced upon this one forum.
Making those perverted cults equal to Islam--except for having four wives :-)

This article is quite good. Thanks for posting it!
I think the author is dead-on in his estimation of why that hatred is so passionate; IOW, knowledge of Christ's reality. Comparative or world religion studies are sort of fun. It's like watching a cosmic play unfold. In time, you learn the characters, their temperaments, their history, and all the rest. And there isn't just one such drama, but many of them! Sumerian, Egyptian, Celtic, etc.!
All the while you understand that the prospect of it is the intellectual equivalent to playing dress-up, and there is little more to glean from such studies than an inkling of history, a bit of philosophy, and some common interesting psychological insights.
