You are an evangelical in the Wesleyan tradition. You believe that God's grace enables you to choose to believe in him, even though you yourself are totally depraved. The gift of the Holy Spirit gives you assurance of your salvation, and he also enables you to live the life of obedience to which God has called us. You are influenced heavly by John Wesley and the Methodists."
Quiz is a little simplistic - uses buzz words.
But you're right, it's fun. (Amusing that somebody who is 100 percent Roman Catholic is 82 percent Wesleyan!)
Yep, I agree with you there.
This was my score:
Roman Catholic 100%
Evangelical Holiness/Wesleyan 75%
Neo orthodox 71%
Fundamentalist 64%
Classical Liberal 32%
Reformed Evangelical 29%
Emergent/Postmodern 18%
Charismatic/Pentecostal 14%
Modern Liberal 0%
I'm not exactly sure how all those other terms are defined by the author, nor how the percentages can add up to more than 100%, however, I am relieved to know that "modern liberal" was 0%. =D
What is Neo Orthodox and where is plain old Orthodox?
Orthodox should be close second for me.
You are Roman Catholic. Church tradition and ecclesial authority are hugely important, and the most important part of worship for you is mass. As the Mother of God, Mary is important in your theology, and as the communion of saints includes the living and the dead, you can also ask the saints to intercede for you.
*************
Well, what do you know? :)
Roman Catholic 100%
Evangelical Holiness/Wesleyan 86%
Neo orthodox 64%
Fundamentalist 64%
Emergent/Postmodern 46%
Charismatic/Pentecostal 43%
Classical Liberal 39%
Reformed Evangelical 29%
Modern Liberal 14%

LOL, it figures. I was raised United Methodist.

I'm Anglican. I don't think the Pope is the head of the universal church and I do not ask saints to intercede for me. This quiz missed on me.
Just for fun ping

Funny how Wesleyan comes second or third for everybody. If I were Methodist, I'd be troubled by that.

I'm not sure how I got the "Evangelical Holiness/Wesleyan" tag. Maybe because I didn't say folks who pray in tongues are going to Hell. * chuckle *

Not interested in the quiz but I will put forth my common sense theological reasoning:
God must be eternal if he exists and if he does not exist there is no answer for the question, "Where did the universe come from?"
So since God has always been here it might be possible that He would wish to communicate His presence to conscious beings such as ourselves. Thus one would of necessity look to the world's oldest religions that have stood the test of time, so to speak.
There are only two. Hindu and Hebrew. All other world religions are simply offshoots of those two but for tribal animist religions which can be dismissed as they sprout like the grass and wither away similarly.
Personally I reject Hinduism because it is obviously a silly polytheistic human construct. It's description of creationism alone reveals it to be basically a cartoon.
So we have Judaism and the Bible standing alone. Read it. See that it's central theme is the falleness of man and his only rescue is The Messiah. Christ claimed to be the Messiah and the evidence supports this claim. The Messiah quoted the 'Old Testament' extensively ... therby authenticating it. He also prophesied the future of Mankind. EVERYTHING is covered. You have to willfully NOT want to know The Truth to reject it.
As far as the many sects of Christianity, which in fact is Judaism for the Gentiles, I discount them all. Foolish traditions of men. Just read the red and study the Old Testament quotes of The Messiah. You cannot fail to 'get it'.

You scored as Reformed Evangelical. You are a Reformed Evangelical. You take the Bible very seriously because it is God's Word. You most likely hold to TULIP and are sceptical about the possibilities of universal atonement or resistible grace. The most important thing the Church can do is make sure people hear how they can go to heaven when they die.
|
Some of those questions are very poorly worded. For example: "God said it. I believe it. That settles it." This is actually somewhat oxymoronic since at the same time it recognizes the Word of God as absolute truth yet adds personal acceptance to it in order to make it authoritative.
Anyway, no real surprises here.

The Methodists? Erk.Yep, light entertainment, but very interesting. Some of the questions were kind of generalized which may have skewed my results.

It pegged me pretty correctly.
"Whats your theological worldview?"
I'm a born-again pagan.
