Mohler is almost right in the above assertion. But the dethroning of marriage is only an intermediate step in this assault. It is merely one of the battlegrounds in the attempt (ill-fated, as we know) to dethrone God himself. Marriage is, as Paul explained in Ephesians, a metaphor that illuminates the very mystery of the relationship between Christ and his church. Destroy marriage and you destroy a link to our understanding of our relationship to God. But destroy language and I think the enemy truly believes you will have destroyed the one who is known as the Word. The one who was with God, who was God and who became flesh and dwelt among us.
