VATICAN CITY, FEB. 14, 2005 (Zenit.org).- The Fatima secret has been totally revealed by the Vatican, and Russia has already been consecrated as Mary requested, confirmed Sister Maria Lucia of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart.
The witness of the apparitions of the Blessed Virgin of Fatima made this statement to the then secretary of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, Archbishop Tarcisio Bertone, on Nov. 17, 2001, contradicting those who say that the Church still has secrets about the Marian apparition.
The content of the interview held between the Vatican representative and Sister Lucia in the convent of Coimbra, Portugal, where she resided, was made public by the Vatican press office on Dec. 20, 2001.
The text of the document states: "In recent months, especially following the sad events of the September 11 terrorist attacks, articles appeared in newspapers alleging new revelations by Sister Lucia, announcements of letters of warning to the Pope, and apocalyptic reinterpretations of the Fatima message."
"Moreover, emphasis was placed on the suspicion that the Holy See had not published the entire text of the third part of the secret, and some 'Fatimist' movements have repeated the accusation that the Holy Father has yet to consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary," the document continues.
As a result, the Vatican note clarifies, it was considered necessary that Archbishop Bertone go personally "to clarify and obtain direct information from the visionary."
The meeting was held in the presence of Father Luis Kondor, vice postulator of the cause of Blessed Francisco and Jacinta (the other Fatima visionaries), and of the prioress of St. Teresa's Carmelite Convent.
The conversation took place on the afternoon of that Nov. 17 and lasted more than two hours. Sister Lucia, then 94, "was in great form -- lucid and vivacious," the Vatican envoy said.
The meeting addressed the question of the third part of the secret of Fatima. The Portuguese religious said that she had read "carefully and meditated on the fascicle published by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith and confirms everything that is written," the Vatican statement noted.
When the archbishop explained that there are doubts that part of the secret remains unknown, Sister Lucia replied: "Everything has been published; there are no more secrets."
"If I had received new revelations, I would not have communicated them to anyone, but I would have told them directly to the Holy Father," the religious added.
There was then talk about the statements of Nicholas Gruner, a Canadian priest suspended "a divinis," who is collecting signatures insisting that the Pope finally consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and alleging that this has never been done.
Sister Lucia told the archbishop: "The Carmel community has rejected the forms for the collection of signatures. I have already said that the consecration requested by Our Lady was done in 1984, and it has been accepted in heaven."
Lastly, the conversation turned to Sister Lucia's personal life. Some press articles suggested that her concern robbed her of sleep and that she was praying night and day.
The religious answered: "It's not true. How would I be able to pray during the day if I did not sleep at night? How many things they attribute to me! How many things they make me do! They should read my book; the advice and appeals that correspond to Our Lady's wishes are there. Prayer and penance, with great faith in God's power, will save the world."
In re the "period of peace" you for got the manefestations thereof in:
East Timor, Rwanda, South Africa, Kosovo, and just about any country you can name in South and Central America over the last 40 years.
Maybe it is to be found in your local worship space.......oh, excuse me,...that is now called a Centrum............where we can gleefully enjoy balloons, clowns, pretty banners & felt appliques, Teletubbie Musik, and dance with the inscense bearers.
Impressive! Such intellectual curiosity! Your relentless quest for truth and exposing error is a model to us all. Thank you. It's just as well, I'm sure it was over your head. However, I will type more slowly in the future since it's obvious you cannot read very fast. It was just a series of papal quotes and Our Lord. Nothing for you to think is worth reading. :)
The length and bad formatting put paid to that.
Thank God we don't have you for Biblical scholarship. You'd make a real gem of a paleographer.
Progressively longer and unfocused essays seem to be your specialty.
Since you haven't read it, I can't understand how you would know whether or not it is unfocused. I can at this point, safely assume that you are completely out of gas when it comes to anything worthwhile to say in your own mind. De Facto: You ran out of gas long ago and have yet to say anything worthwhile.
However, please carry on.
I shall. Thanks for your permission.
Rambling defences of conspiracies is great, as far as I'm concerned. You're proving my point in spades and at the same time alerting good citizens that they need to add you to their bozo filter.
So, when are you going to make a plaque for yourself out of macaroni and glue titling yourself "Defender of the Faith" ? Or did you do it already? Your delusions of grandeur concerning the importance of these little conversations is sooo cute! I can just imagine the town crier's uniform and you making a little trumpet/kazoo noise with your curled up hand, "doo-d-d-doooo! Hear Ye! Hear Ye! I sayeth all Radtrad's be kooks! This I sayeth because they raineth on my idolatrous papal parade! "
Probably should've been done at the first mention of Elvis and Flying Saucers. But hey, if someone want to "rassle" there is nothing wrong with a witty dust-up.
And I say take your message to the source. I'm just responding. I gave you a clue with Elvis and Flying Saucers, which by your silence you seem to think does do service to the message of Fatima.
The person to whom you should address your complaint is Marshmallow, who took this thread away from its intended topic of discussion.
What Gerard was attempting to do - and did valiantly - was to defend truth against random red herrings, and gross silliness.
I have no problem with posts #59 and #60. But they have nothing to do with post #103 which I do have a problem with.
For some unknown reason you decided to single me out for defending the calumniated and calling it "overkill" while ignoring the various "Elvis and the Flying Saucers" type of comments spewed by the antagonists on the thread.
In post #103 you came looking for something. You say you don't "intend" to get into a dust up. But, In other words you just want to drop your opinion and you don't want anyone to have the right to comment on it or even challenge you on it.
It was not "overkill". It was measured carefully according to the language and style of the poster who attacked. Since they cannot discuss with reason, they use colorful imagery to mask their lack of factual evidence to back up their opinions. I respond in kind with factual and objective statements peppered with similar phrases in order to "speak their language".
As you said posts #59-60 were your statements on Fatima. Post #103 is your comment to me. If you didn't want a response, you shouldn't have posted it.
There is an answer. Nothing. But the real secret has things in it that the Vatican has been so afraid of that they have made everyone who has read the real version take an oath that they will not make it public. I quote a priest who has spent his life studying this topic.
In order to be worth keeping quiet, the message would logically have to be self-incriminating for the Vatican. Pope John XXIII read it an pronounced that "this is not for our pontificate." Why not? How about this: "There will be a council of the Church which will spread evil in the world." Well, that would have made John less enthusiastic about his council whose very existence was based on his enthusiasm, no? And would this not have been "more clear" in 1960?
Or this one: "There will be changes to the Mass that all Catholics should reject." Why would any of the post-concilar popes want THAT to be revealed?
Furthermore, would these both not have been rather obvious by now, the time of Sister Lucy's death?
May the good Lord rest her soul in peace. And may he please continue to have mercy on us left behind!
There are many factors - some provable, some legendary (and probably exaggerated) all of which combined make for more then circumstantial evidence that the "real" secret was of such dire consequence that it had to be "buried".
Such rumours would have included that John XXIII (and possibly every succeeding pope) fainted upon reading it. May be true....maybe not.......maybe partly true, or exaggerated. Yet, it points to something which is severe enough to cause a great shock to the system of one who reads it for the first time.
Fr. Malachi Martin, who did read the secret in its entirety = and was sworn to secrecy as to the specifics of the contents, would go so far as to say - when asked - that the secret "is more horrific then anything you could imagine - and then some".
Read in the context of 1960 - or the early 60s - long before the Coundcil had finished, much less before any of its ill effects began to show serious and widespread negative consequences, the secret would indeed be shocking.
Our Lady has told us at Akita that the third Secret is to be found in Scripture. The words of Christ in regard to the propecied "great apostacy", which is prefigured by the writings of the Old Testanment prophets, as well as beng in Revelations.
A council which would spread great evil? That was painfully obvious to John XXII, as he was dying in 1963, as well as to St. Padre Pio. And its effects/fruits were yet to be seen, in their fullness.
"....because by 1960, things will be clearer" Yes, indeed they would be. The Church of 2005 would be unimaginable to a Catholic in 1917. But also so in 1960 itself - though the warning signs were already there.
In essense, many experts on the subject have concluded that the Secret, in the reality of its complete text, warns of a general and widespread loss of the faith. The defection of the clergy. Of abominations performed at altars. The clues are in Scripture, and in the messages of Akita.
Lying has a way of trapping its users, and this is what has happened to the Vatican.
The Vaticans first step of error started when they took control of the third secret because they feared it's contents.
Second step was their refusal to obey God,and release the third secret in 1960.
Since then they have lied, lied, and lied.
The only way out for the Vatican is to confess, but they dare not do this, because even the ones that presently believe and support them would abandoned them.
They are in deep, deep trouble, and this flows down to the rest of the church, and its been doing so since 1960.
Thank you for being brave enough to state what you did - in such an intelligent & succinct manner.
Thank you saying I am brave, but what I dearly pray for is that someone in Vatican will be brave,an put an end to this error.
It has gone on to long, and done to much spiritual damage.
It is going to take a very, very brave person to front up,and tell the church that they have been lied too.
Our Lady wanted the whole church to hear the Third Secret,no matter how shocking it is.
The whole church needed to hear it,and debate it.
From that would have come the wonderful healing the church so desperately needs.
The Vaticans disobedience of God has already led to a massive spiritual decline both in and outside the church, and this is clear to every thinking person.
We have become so spiritually denuded, that our souls are now in a state of dire want.
This error must come to an end.
We should all pray that God raises a brave one in the Vatican.
Please God.
Send us your bravest Angel.
I think it is for precisely the reasons which you stated that the whole and entire third Secret of Fatima was not revealed - neither in 1960, nor in 2000.
It "called a spade a spade".
A common story surrounding the conversion of St. Mary Magdalene is that when she was being accused of her sins by the Jews with the elders of the Tample watching.....having been caught in adultery & condemned to death by stoning, that Jesus bent down and began to write in the sand.
My understanding is that he wrote the sins of those who were about to stone her - in public, on the ground, for all to see. They walked away in horror.
So it seems to be with the real and whole text of the third Secret. All was to be exposed - for all to see, hear & read. It was for that reason that Our Lady wanted the text exposed to the light of day.
when you turn over a rock in the woods, all sorts of disgusting slimey things are exposed to the light of day..........and slither away.
Its so sad for me that it wasn't revealed, almost crushing.
I have not lost my faith in God,but I no faith at all in anything that comes out of the vatican.
It is so clearly a coverup, that if this were to be a judged by independent legal experts, not a single one of them would would agree with the vatican.
It's time for the obstacles to the restoration of Holy Mother Church to either get up to speed or move aside.
I really wish it were that simple.
We know that the church failed to obey God in 1960.
Disobedience of God has very serious consequences, and we as a church have been living with the vaticans disobedience for over 40 years.
Open your eyes, and look at the condition of the church today...its dying.
Denial wont work.
The Third Secret was no small message, and we have only been show the outer edges.
Do you know the name of Sr. Lucia’s book? I’d love to read it.
