LISBON, PORTUGAL - Sister Lucia Marto, the last of three children who claimed to have seen the Virgin Mary in a series of 1917 apparitions in the town of Fatima, has died, Portuguese media reported. She was 97.
Sister Lucia, a Roman Catholic nun, had been ill for the past three months and died Sunday at the Convent of Carmelitas in Coimbra, 120 miles north of Lisbon, TSF radio reported, citing family sources.
Lucia and two of her cousins, siblings Jacinta and Francisco, said in 1917 that the Virgin Mary had been appearing to them once a month and predicting events, such as world wars, the re-emergence of Christianity in Russia...."
The first sighting was May 13, [1917] and the appearances continued for another five months, ending abruptly in October.

Sister Maria of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, your unswerving devotion to The Blessed Trinity and The Blessed Virgin Mary has now pasted.
Now we'll never know.
Further, Sister Maria of the Immaculate Heart of Mary received further direction from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and The Blessed Virgin Mary.
Perhaps we would do well to reaffirm our reverence for and commitment to God as emulated by Sister Maria of the Immaculate Heart of Mary:
On May 29, 1930 Our Lord explained to Sr. Lucia that the five Saturdays were in reparation for:
1. Those who deny the Immaculate Conception.
2. Those who deny Our Lady's virginity.
3. Those who deny Our Lady's Divine maternity and that She is the Mother of all mankind.
4. Those who cause children to have indifference, contempt or hatred toward Our Lady.
5. Those who commit outrages against Holy Images of Our Lady.
Please, please, please, avoid the 'did or didn't' baitings.
A thread devoted to the abundance of apparitions Sister Maria of the Immaculate Heart of Mary reported would be a testament to her role as Heavenly Messenger. The apologists for this pope will not be convinced he did not reveal the Third Secret. Let them blather. Take the high road. The road He would prefer we take.

God Bless
Once upon a time nothing got posted without a URL source, less this board be filled with rumor. Don't know how this one slipped pass the gatekeepers.
I actually thought that the 3rd secret was known to the church.
bump
But then the thread you reference was posted with no supporting documentation. Consequently it would not have been brought to my attention, and I could have done something better with my time. The vicissitudes of life weigh heavily.....and all that rot. FR's post 'search' simply does not take into account related threads by way of word association.
I'm new and still learning the ropes.

She's in heaven with the angels now.
Sr.Lucia died today,the 13th. On the same date,the 13th. Our Lady
first appeared to her. On this 13th day, Our Lady came and took
Sr. Lucia home. With her celestial court to escort Sr. Lucia past
the doors of purgatory, where as a young child, the Blessed Mother
showed her the horrors there, and where today the souls of popes,
bishops, and priests are being purified, for among other things,
their doubting this chosen child of Our Lady. Upwards to the throne
of Christ the King they take her. Her King and Savior then placed on
her head a crown of golden roses that was made from all of the roses
sent to His mother from each of Sr.Lucia's rosaries during her long
hard life here on earth. Her cousins run to great her and never more
will she need permission from Ratzinger to speak to anyone. God has
Blessed you Sr. Lucia please pray for us here on earth.
Every saint needs a miracle perhaps her miracle will be that we get a
catholic pope and the consecration will be done as the Blessed Mother
said.
Thanks for the new thread. Yesterday's threads had many articles and links within them. It happens with breaking news.
We don't need a limit on Fatima, that's for certain!
We don't often hear about Sister Lucia's life and visions after 1917. I did not know the origin of the First Five Saturdays. Thank you!
