Thanks very much! I checked out the link and it seems pretty good, but since you have one of the missals yourself... would you mind saying exactly what it is you like about it... is it an improvement from the St. Andrew's Daily Missal?? Or the same? Is it all that the site says it is?
I was looking into the 1962 missal being printed by Baronius press, but a friend of mine who has seen one says it contains the luminous mysteries, so I was hesitating to buy it.
Does it have anything like that? I really would like a more comprehensive missal, viz., more prayers, but also the Latin/ English... and one that isn't a reprint because the pages aren't as easy to read.
Thanks again.

I'd like to extend a big warm traditional Catholic welcome to you both.

Sit down and make yourselves at home, it's nice to have you. Eat or drink whatever you like out of the fridge and invite your friends.

God bless.

I also have the St. Andrew Daily Missal. Here's why I like this missal better:

1. I like how the English translation is on the right page only - it allows for bigger print because you don't have the English and the Latin on the same page.

2. I think the instructions (which are in the right margin) are more comprehensive.

3. It's thinner. The St. Andrew is so thick it sometime hard to work with.

The only negative of this missal is that the pages are so thin, you have to be more careful than usual when turning them.

"I was looking into the 1962 missal being printed by Baronius press, but a friend of mine who has seen one says it contains the luminous mysteries, so I was hesitating to buy it."

Does containing the Luminous Mysteries really make a difference as to authenticity or faithfulness? I can't believe that would be a negative consideration.

Before the luminous mysteries were promulgated I used to play a little game when saying the Rosary, looking fo the most profound yet meaningful in terms of the life of Jesus through the eyes of Mary, wih the stipulation that it tie in with the existing mysteries. It was basically just a longing to meditate on more subjects.

So the idea that 5 more mysteries on our Lords life is a bad thing, and in fact would invalidate a missal, rather than being an extra should you want to avail of it, boggles the mind. I would even say it is over the edge in disobedience and a desire to seperate from the Church over any imagined slight. It's like refusing to eat a piece of cake because there is a cherry on top.
