>>Is it bringing people closer to Christ, or is it creating a spectacle unto itself?<<

That is the question.
We in the church are not required to believe in any apparition or miracle even if it is ruled to be supernatural.
When that miracle becomes a cult unto itself and money is made hand over fist for the promoters of it, I feel it is evil. When one is drawn closer to Our Lord by the realization of it, that is good.

In a private letter to Padre Pietro, one of the researchers wrote: "these are results to stun with amazement even a statue." And again: "faced with the results of these analyses is incredible to me, and that is not saying much to say this, I could not even succeed in hiding my tears." And another one told him: "This is real human blood, but it seems to really come from another world."

Yeah -- the "under-world."

Satan is "supernatural" as well as God.

"I think one thing to remember is that the Devil cannot create like God can. He can only corrupt."

Satan is indeed quite capable of mimicking and invoking God's "creations" -- even impersonating Jesus Christ Himself.

I agree with this but by it's fruits you can see if it is evil or good.
Do those that present the "miracle" profit from it?
Do those who promote it ask for fame or profit?
Does it make one think more of Our Lord or tell pilgrims to stray from the basic teachings of Jesus?

It is alright to look at something as a miracle as long as one does not worship the object or apparition.

When I hear someone who presented a miracle chooses a life walking in the steps of Our Lord, I have to look at it as something good.

Wow!

One would think that if this was just human flesh it would have deteriorated!

All I am saying is stuff like this should be approached with caution...

I agree, it is best to proceed with extreme caution. Sometimes people can become miracle and apparition chasers, and lose sight of what we know to be true.

I heard Fr. Groeschel say once, "You want to hear God speak to you? READ THE BIBLE. You want to see a miracle? GO TO MASS!" :-D

"It is alright to look at something as a miracle as long as one does not worship the object or apparition."

Therein lies the problem.

Too often the mere apparition automatically represents "good" without discernment.

"When I hear someone who presented a miracle chooses a life walking in the steps of Our Lord, I have to look at it as something good."

That in itself could be considered a "miracle" as well. Amen to that.

I have a close friend of mine who witnessed along with others a portrait of the Modonna "speaking" to them -- that is her lips actually moved.

Satan OR "miracle"?

P.S. -- This was at the home of someone who'd had had a much-publicized Marian Shrine in his yard, and of whom been "speaking to Our Lady."

Some of her "messages" did NOT turn out to be true.

Oooo, that's part of the problem. I think that the Devil himself has seen how devoted people can be after witnessing a true miracle. There are hundreds of people who are talking to or hearing from "Mary". I believe this is to confuse us.

Here is a list of Modern false Apparitions..

I may be wrong but I believe James Randi's one million was for someone proving ESP. I think the major problem would be that most people don't know who James Randi is, or they think he is dead.

>>Btw, Our Lady of Medjugorie is also false.<<

I believe it is as well.
The handlers of those "seers" know how to work it well. They will not have the appparitions stop eventhough the "Gospa" has stated more than once that they will.
The Vatican will not rule on it until the apparitions stop. The Holy See has stated that no group can go there with the intention of venerating the site. The tours still go on. I went to church today and a group of ladies had a flyer about a tour. I didn't know what to say except that it is not approved. They didn't seem to mind.
The local Bishop has said many times that nothing supernatural is happening there. He is wrong only in the fact that there is nothing Godly going on. I believe there is something supernatural and it scares me.

I almost visited the lady from Cleveland when I lived there. She had billboards in Slavic Village near downtown where the Eastern European, extremely Catholic community lives. Many people thought she was real. I thank God that I was not caught up in it.

Who is the person you know? FReepmail me if you don't want it public.

The Bible says that in the last days

So, you are saying "these" are the last days? The first disciples of Christ believed that they were living in the "last days" and that was 2000 years ago. These may feel like the last days but only God knows when that day will come. In the meantime, there have been many examples of bleeding icons. In each instance where the blood was analyzed, it was ALWAYS AB. This particular situation just happens to be better documented and scientifically examined than the others.

James Randi's US$1M challenge is here. He wants "evidence of any paranormal, supernatural, or occult power or event."

Amen!
And also, God's time is not our time.

Here is a joke I heard at Rosary Makers..

A man talks to God and says, "Lord, how long is a million years to you?"
Our Lord says, "Just a minute."
Then the man asks, "How much money is a million dollars to you?"
Our Lord says, "Just a penny."
The man, being very smug says, "Then all I ask is a penny."
Our Lord replies, "In a minute."

We may be in the last days, but we do not know how long a Heavenly Day is!

It's creepy and unconscienable that those continue to exploit the charade not only for greed, but for helping Satan in his deceptions.

The CC ought not ONLY "disapprove," but should officially make it anathema.

The priest of my former parish went on a pilgrimage there last year, everyone thought it was just wonderful. The Bishop had no problem with it. Sigh.

The problem is 'Our Lady' of Medjugorie is a liar.

Note "her" quotes at the following link:
