Please pray the elections in Iraq go well and that all Iraqis and Americans are safe during this time.
Pray that Iraqis will quickly have the strength to defend themselves and have everlasting freedom and happiness.
Elections start in less than 20 minutes!!
Our Americans in Iraq and the Iraqi people need your prayers.
Another FReeper started an Iraqi Election prayer thread the other day. Can't remember who.
Here are my prayers for this thread:
Dear Lord: Protect those who sincerely want freedom, peace, and prosperity for Iraq. We pray for those sincere Iraqis who brave the evil threats of murderers and enemies of democracy and decency. Protect them< Lord, as they go to the voting places. We espcially pray for those non-Iraqis--military and civilians--who are there in this dangerous, but hopeful time. In Jesus Name, Amen.
Oh my..How I am praying for this to be a success and soon bring our troops home..on OUR time table..not theirs..
Prayers for the Iraqis today and for the future of their democracy!
As an aside, prayers for the Ukraine as well. I hope they can break the chains of corruption.
That is a beautiful prayer.
Thanks for the prayers.
These elections should have a positive effect on freedom for the entire Middle East.
Prayed for the Iraqi people at Mass this morning.
I also, and don't flame me, prayed for their enemies and ours by name.
We are commanded to pray for our enemies. God's blessings are in ways we cannot comprehend. I just leave it to Him. Standing in the path of the Almighty as he blesses the enemy might be a bit like walking in the face of a class 5
You are correct. We should pray for our enemies, as well. I wish our enemies would see the light, and stop being our enemies.
It's a shame that young suicide bombers naively kill themselves, while the terrorists who told them to do it, grow old. They are taught to hate in school, and I wish we had the leverage to get them to use textbooks that don't teach hate.
Also, the prayers from the U.S.A., and around the world, helped. The elections were a tremendous success.
