IF you don't want me responding to your assaults and accusations,

you might consider avoiding making them.

LMAO, wow, you guys crack me up!
Humans are so funny and clever.
Entertaining and educational at the same time! This thread is a conversation that's nearly the same
as it ever was. lol It really demonstrates it goes
absolutely nowhere.

SOMETIMES

the familiar is comforting.

Sometimes it's just habit.

Lots of times it's just silly and perversely human on all our sides.

"IF you don't want me responding to your assaults and accusations"

LOL. You threw the first stone, but now claim you are merely "responding". Tell me Wise One, what is the Father of all Sin?

You first implied my dear sister was a

"crazy fundie."

I certainly have a bit of a hair trigger in such matters.

But it was you, Fred, who started with the harsh labels and insults.

It's intriguing and reassuring that we appear to be all searching
for some answer. The familiar IS comforting, and in that,
I see both danger and eternity.

Hearing the hearts of people on these views are both
outrageous and humbling.

Well said.

I should probably neuter my reflex to try and slap down naysayer assaults and insults.

Such things are of no eternal consequence.

I just get weary of so much negativity layered on top of a worthy topic. And, I get annoyed that others seem to be too wimpy, passive or something to speak up.

Still, there are far more important things to bother about.

Thanks for your kind posts.

You first implied my dear sister was a "crazy fundie."

Sigh. Here is the sentence in question. Perhaps someone else here can help you deconstruct it:

the MSM loves to wave articles like this as "proof" that RedStaters are all a bunch of crazy fundies waiting for the Mothership to arrive.

Ya know, your inability to comprehend a basic sentence is cause for concern - especially when you turn to interpreting scripture.

But it was you, Fred, who started with the harsh labels and insults.

Uh no - see post 112. BTW, who is Fred? Your imaginary friend?

I have no real desire to try and teach you a great deal about

implied,
implications,
etc.

Enjoy your constructions on reality, Fred.

If RedStaters practiced their religion in such a manner as to not offend the MSM then pretty quickly they would begin ordaining homosexual bishops!

I would rather see them spending their time prayerfully and humbly studying the mysteries of God's Word...

...no matter who chooses to laugh at them or mock them.

BTW, the answer you failed to give was Pride

I don't know if it's negativity so much as it is passion or pride from people.

People need to make sense of things in one way or another and attempt to really explain the unexplainable..
I think we ALL feel the same, that is to say, we don't experience a core
emotion that no one else has, but we just sell it from under a point of view. Some take an incredibly hard stance.

Hey, Fred,

If you need to win this in some mysterious or psychodynamic sense,

PLEASE! CONSIDER YOURSELF THE WINNER.

Maintain your death grip on your constructions on reality and I'll bow out.

Very well said.

I do try and consider ALMOST anyone's input and see what I can learn from it.

However, I do tend to have a knee-jerk response that's extremely combative and resistent to the chronic 'agin-it' naysaying which seems to crop up hereon so persistently whenever anything prophetic or supernatural enters the discussion.

And the assaultive, insulting, derisive etc. flavors of it just beg me, somehow, to slap them down in kind.

I'm not particularly proud of that. I just hate seeing such an attitude carry the day so easily, repeatedly, chronically.

I suppose I should learn from my betters who don't stoop to such depths.

I certainly have no delusions that I'll influence the naysayers AT ALL. Concrete is not usually so flexible! Fossilized granite craniums worse.

But I have the fantasy or delusion that lurkers might learn something from at least seeing that there is another perspective.

I think I may have another delusion--that annoying the naysayers by slapping back at them in kind will be some sort of aversive stimulus. That's probably insanity. It probably only feeds their obnoxiousness. LOL. Silly me. I should keep that in mind more.

Much appreciate your thoughtful and wise posts. I appreciate sounding boards.

I agree. Elements of the Christian community have embarrassed themselves too many time picking dates.

When I was younger I took a keener interest in the end times - but I think God wants me at least to live in the here and now.

The people of the Middle Ages also expected the coming of the anti-Christ in their time.

Indeed there are certain historical deeds that must and have fallen in place. The creation of Israel was one.

What has become clearer to me is where the US will stand. 5 years ago, I had no idea if the US would side against Israel or not. I now believe it is likely the United States will be the one of few who will stand behind Israel. France, Germany, and the Arab states will those landing on the shores of Tel Aviv. Where Canada, the UK, Australia will stand is harder to say. In the meantime the faithful may be driven from these nations into the United States. Switzerland, a very faithful nation, will no longer be able to seriously stand behind neutrality. It will have to make a choice. India I believe will be behind Israel. As will the Philippines.

Of some speculation to me is whether or not some modern nations will be intact. Will the United States break apart? Will Canada break apart?

Dude... you're intense. If I may say so.

It certainly keeps the ball rolling in these threads though, and I do believe
your views force people to think and may inform on certain scriptures and interpretations.
Sometime I feel you clump the naysayers into a bunch of obnoxious people.
enough about you though..:-0

Me, I am fascinated by the yearning for us to have some explanation of things,
no matter what mythology it invokes. A slippery slope. The power of religious faith helps melt away all the questions that boggle the mind and tie up the heart. It mostly feels
like a sell out to me though, to think one way is the only way.

Unless . . .

the truth

REALLY IS

only THAT WAY.

There's something about trying to say all roads lead to Rome

that is inherently rebellious . . . because we instinctively know that saying everything is OK is the same as saying nothing is important enough for me to have to obey it.
