I was recently given a bible that is designated as the "New Living Translation". It's much more readable than my King James, but I don't know anything about the reliability of the translation. I would like to hear opinions from anyone who knows anything about this. Thanks!
Why? Do you have any reliable documentation that could possibly refute anything I said?
Just remember that any documentation that I will accept as reliable MUST come from the King James Version (KJV-1611) of the Bible and the KJV ONLY!
If it isn't KJV, it isn't reliable.

Perhaps too many King Authur books, you have read? This is all so humorous to me, forgive me, if I tend to get in on the act from time to time.
BTW there are no King Arthur "Books." When King Arthur Ruled the Holy Land of England, people couldn't read books because Guttenberg hadn't discovered the KJV 1611 golden plates in the Ark of the Covenant and thus no one knew how to read.

Extrapolating from that
that the errors in the KJV are more 'RIGHTEOUS ERRORS' than the errors in the best modern translations is a huge leap of something other than Spirit born faith, imho.

Personally, I believe that in our era, those who may go before will not be going that many years or months before. The wrap up of history as we have known it for centuries appears well and close on the horizon.
In terms of Billy Graham, his wife was born in China, as I recall, of missionary parents. I was annoyed with his public pronouncements at the time. But after my own time in China, I realized that he was very wise. He was working to further the Gospel in China. That was his mandate from God.
What he SAID was that he never SAW persecution of Christians in China. Of course he didn't on a well structured bunch of staged events etc. He knew that. Easy to say that. For the Chinese leaders it would be viewed as a coup with a Western idiot. From Graham's part, he'd said merely the obvious truth and gained some debt of face from the leaders who were now obligated to be more agreeable with his organization. Small price to pay for a big benefit to the cause of Christ. I don't judge him for that, at all--except favorably.
It really is a fiercely conservative site. But liberal views are examined, debated, analyzed and shredded as almost recreation.
And religiously and even spiritually--there's a wide range on several continuums. There doesn't appear to be a 1:1 correlation with political conservatism and great spiritual maturity much at all.
You really don't want to know about my PhD major or school! LOL. It was a very high quality professional psychology school now part of Alliant Univ in San Diego, formerly called US INTERNATIONAL U. I also attended a charismatic/Pentecostal mom and pop Bible college there that's no longer in existence. It was founded by a Methodist MD and his wife and never reached significant status--especially in view of some of the escapades of one of the son-in-law's. Now both husband and wife are with The Lord.
I also worked for the first two years of the Navy human relations program CREDO on the wharf in San Diego ran by chaplains--whom I doubted any had a real relationship with God at the time. The founder since seems to have developed one.
I've served as a tent-making missionary for 15 years in China and Taiwan. Would love to be back there as soon as God allows and confirms--hopefully by taking my Alzheimer's mother to be with Him sooner than later.
