I could and still can defend it. I was just tired of the tenor of the discussions. I had already made up my mind to quit the discussion, and said so before your last post.
I really do not think your position is defendable by SCRIPTURE as opposed to tradition .
I have noticed when the question comes up and students of the word point out that it is not biblical , soon the crowd scatters because it is not easy to defend a non biblical position from scripture.
